Eyes Without A Face

Here is my Adrift entry for the spotlight! Hope it looks alright.
I was trying to go for the a long towering shadow being behind the Spartan.You might tell that I also had a different overall angle than usual,this is an aerial view looking down slightly.The shadow unusually cut the head off and left a weird leaving of it.This did fit in with the title,it having no face or head for that matter.The surroundings I liked because of the mix matched lines and grates of the floor blending in with me.

Also the name of the title I picked Eyes Without A Face is a song by Billy Idol and as I was listening to it so much on this day I thought I would call it that as well as the song title fitting in well with the screenshot.The song actually motivated me.

Anyway I hope it does well & hope you like it.

Lucy, “Eyes Without a Face” is a great screenshot.
For me, this is one that allows you to sit back and contemplate. It has feeling.
Eyes Without a Face was a mellow song and I think you chose well for your title.

Billy Idol, Hmmm……. I remember him (back when MTV actually played music video’s).

I must say your’s is better, but I think we were kind of going for the same thing … as you can see here (note my desperate attempt to incorporate the glare).
Also, I noticed you had two (2!) screenies in the Haven Spotlight, you should get a double photographer emblem for that! Well done.

Well I took advantage of Ninja Assassin’s use of black armor to finally get a proper looking ODST! I know there have been discussions on here whether the ODST visor is blue, white, or black … but I went with black.

… Did you catch me somewhere on this forum saying I thought the “Turtle” helmet was silly? lol.
All of your pictures just got new likes … not courtesy likes, genuine ones because they’re awesome.

Also, you guys might find this humorous (maybe) but as I was running around on Ninja Assassins I found a dead Spartan leaning against the wall … kinda looks like he’s trying to be “chill” or chatting a girl up. Anyway, I took a shot of him and called it Just Chillin’

Mecha Sh0ckwave, I’m sure Bright would have made it if you met the deadline. I love the purple and yellow contrast.

“Melee” seems like it’d be tricky … I tagged THIS ONE as melee, but I’m not sure it counts as Energy Swords are being used.

Here’s a tip:
As soon as the new theme is announced get a few shots in that night. This boosts your download numbers and keeps you up in the top shots.

Remember that they look at all shots under the date tab. Not just the last week.

Good afternoon everybody.

Congratulations to everybody who had their ‘Adrift’ themed photo featured. Very awesome and interesting set of photos, and a tip of the hat to RECEPTOR 17 who had two photos featured. Well done to everybody including those who did try, as there were many awesome photos created for the contest. I have to agree with Delica34, people really hit it out of the park with this theme. The new theme is ‘melee’. I wish I knew if this pertained to simple melee, weapon melee, or even melee weapon melee. Well, good luck to everybody with this theme. Keep hitting it out of the park.

Before I start, I just wanted to let everybody know that I will be having a monthly photo themed contest in May. What the theme will be I do not know yet as I am trying to work that out. There will be five code prizes, in which I will share what they will be as well as the theme May 1. If you have any suggestions for a theme, PM me, as I am up for ideas.

Alright now, let me take a look at the awesome recent photos I have seen.

Z6NITRO, I like how you earned yourself a Showstopper in ‘Busted’. As a person who likes to assassinate others, I will have to take care if I ever meet you in a game, lol. I like the teamwork feel in ‘Hall Monitors’ as well, very nice photo. As for your ‘Adrift’ themed photos, you did very well utilizing warm colors for your photos. It really adds dynamic feeling to each photo. Well done with your photos.

Gothic Lucy, ‘Eyes Without a Face’ is a very nice photo, and really interesting as it utilizes nothing more than the base lighting on Adrift and the Colorblind FX. I like the upper-half of the shadow as it looks as if it is becoming square-like, as that reminds me of minecraft. I also like that one of Billy Idol’s songs inspired you. I am curious to see what else you can create when you listen to music artists. Great job with your photo.

topsniper707, I like ‘Hollowed’ as it has a fiery feel, even though you utilized the colorblind FX. It looks like small embers are in the backgrounds flying by as your spartan-iv reloads his sticky detonator, which is nice utilization of background elements. If you ever remake it, I wounder what it would look like with warm colors. Great job with your photo.

MrMartini85, very nice ‘Recon’ themed photos and utilization of the Juicy FX. Each photo has a Halo Reach feel to it, as the photos remind me of Forge World, even though the map is on Ragnarok on Halo 4. Of the three, I like ‘You feeling Lucky?’ . You have a bit of a nice angle in that photo, which brings out the weapons and your spartan-iv rather nicely. You also captured some very nice Ninja Assassins photos. Of them, ‘Ninja Assassins 7’ is really nice. I like the idea of Recon vs. ODST, wonder who would win. Well done with your photos.

Mecha Sh0ckwave, you have some really neat ideas from what I’ve seen from your ‘Adrift’ themed photos. ‘Bright’ is really nice as that photos gives off the lighting in a very nice fashion, and I like the explosion form an Ordinance landing in the background as well. ‘Nebula’ is really a unique idea, as you utilized a Health Regen field to give the skys a ‘Northern Lights’ type of feel, which I never seen before on Adrift. Well done with your photos.

I have some new photos, all from recent gameplay and the photos are in spirit of the ‘Ninja Assassins’ gametype that recently was released. I do have ideas with the ‘Ninja Assassins’ gametype, but you don’t necessarily need to play that to be a ninja, and let my photos be proof of that. Friends and I played a lot of Rumble Pit as of late and I assassinated quite a bit of people, including friends. With some games, Cartwright5, Cizlin, and another friend who returned from Battlefield 4 killemall9642 were with me.

As usual, being funny due to what Cartwright5 did to me in Halo Reach in a photo op, I assassinated him a couple of times again, lol.

During a firefight, knowing his strategies, I also got Cartwright5 with my Carbine when he tryed to use his thruster pack to throw me off. After these events, he did get me back good a handful of times.

As for killemall9642, I assassinated him on a game of Regicide on Oynx. Cartwright5 was wearing the mic, and I heard killemall clear as day say:

‘Yoink!’ You lizking!

For cursing at me, I did the following by tracking him amongst the chaos:

As for Cizlin, he was rough to assassinate as he was tricky, and the first assassination I got on him was due to lag, but the second one was legit.

Another set of recent games in Rumble Pit, It was myself, Cizlin, S452, StrikingFate, and RJCCJ and the fun continued with some of the others.

I also had a bit of fun with the Beam Rifle on a game on Monolith, and showed Cizlin how Cartwright5 taught me how to use the Beam Rifle proficiently.

Good evening everybody, and I am back with some more screenshots .

I was messing around with the ‘Ninja Assassins’ gametype in custom games, and I have taken two photos from doing so.

Memories

‘Ninja Assassin with 40% Visor FX’ was me messing around with Juicy and Next Gen on Wreckage near the Cyan Lights to see how reactive Solid Black Armor was to the cyan lights, and although it wasn’t that active, it still looks nice.

As for ‘Memories’, that photo is referencing how for the first time since Halo: CE that we can legitimately have Black Armor (even if it is limited to this gametype), and is referencing the Black Armor Mark V from Halo: CE’s multiplayer.

As for ‘melee’ themed photos, this would be my newest one, and it is a bit funny and meant to be a pun, lol.

As for older photos that meet the ‘melee’ criteria (hopefully), here are some. My local friends and I hope that ‘Teamwork 8 Revised’ can finally be featured, as we have tryed several themes in the past with the photo with no luck. Maybe this time perhaps. Well, it has been awhile since post here but I’m very happy now to release my latest Forge project. Which is based of one of the new foes that the Big G will be fighting in the next few weeks:

Attack of the 8-Legged MUTO.

This was one of the hardest one I had did because of the lack of the official final design pics on this creature that were available. So most of it was me guessing what the monster was going to look like based on a toy that I owned and a screenshot from one of the trailers to get an idea of what the thing looks like and how to build it.

The Muto itself is mostly made out of rocks but I was able to use the shield doors for the eyes to give it that nice red neon color and inclines for the teeth. I also add a train to represent a scene from the movie when the Muto attacks an airport in Honolulu and to give it a sense of scale. Lastly, I used the Colorblind and Juicy FXs to give it a dark & gritty look as well.

Overall, I’m very pleased on how it turned out and hope you enjoy it.

Congratulations to all included in this weeks bulletin! Next weeks is “Wraith”.

I played around with the Hazop Forest Armor this week on Daybreak. Juicy and Color Blind.

The bushes are on the side of the cliff and it was a challenge to get poses before the soft kill boundary light filter kicked in and/or expired.
