I feel like I’m and out of here very inconsistently, but… Now that Spring Break is finally here I think I can actually spend more time giving some constructive criticism for you all.
Anyway I didn’t just come here to say that. I experimented with a new effect I found that is very similar to the Halo 3 flare effect where it looks posterized like this (though maybe not quite to that degree), and the effect that people are calling the “forerunner face fx.” Then I showed my best friend what I found.

For the “Flare Effect,” every movement of the camera gives a completely different result which is why it’s tempting to capture every single second of it. Anyway, I let him do the photographing last night because I didn’t think that much was going to come of that game, honestly. But after seeing what he made… I decided to post his shots here (because I don’t think he would do it himself). He got several awesome shots so here are my three favorites:

>>Winter Waters<<
Ok so starting out with the “forerunner face fx,” this is what he got. What stuck out to me is just that it does give off a cold vibe and so the “Winter Waters” title fits. The soft wisps in the background give it a really soothing but chilly feel. I don’t know if that’s a good way to explain how I felt about it… But oh well. Haha.

>>Deap-Sea Discovery<<
I think my friend did a really good job of capturing the essence of curiosity and exploration in this picture. It looks like he’s at the bottom of the ocean (hinted at by the “waves” on the right, and the use of the plasma pistol as some sort of lantern was very interesting.

>>Waning Daylight<<
Here is one of his shots that showcases the “Flare Effect.” Since we were just experimenting we didn’t know it was going to have these results so I wasn’t really prepared. Hehe. I didn’t pose. :stuck_out_tongue: But other than the obnoxious railgun on my back and random plasma pistol and boring stance… I think the effect is cool. It gives off that sunset feel so in that regard it’s pretty cool.
If you want to see the other ones that he got, you can check out his fileshare here.

Guys, if anyone is online right now, can someone help me out with a few fire themed screenshots? I would appreciate the help.

More fire themed screenshots coming up!

We should get some more screenshots soon. Your screenshots look pretty cool, too!

Great screenshots! I love the effects in all of them. Keep up the good work!

Hey guys. Mecha here. I just wanted to share a couple of these old halo reach screenshots which I edited using an old program called picnik and photoshop.

Enjoy!

What’s up, my friends?
I finally got my new fire submission cooked up, and I made a couple others along with it.

| CONFLAGRATION
My fire entry! I guess it looks a bit “hotter” on the Xbox but I wanted to use the new Halo 3-esque posterizing effect. And, well, this is what I got out of it. Or one of the things, I should say.

| LEGENDARY
I know the pose is very similar to the last one… That’s because it’s actually the exact same. I think I took them in the same frame just at a different angle. Anyway this was a different result I got from that effect. It kind of looked like the universe was tearing away but there Master Chief is in all of his glory. I mean… He’s a legend. So there’s that.

CHEMICAL WARFARE
I just liked the pose and colors for some reason on this one. Otherwise there’s not really anything too special about it.

So I know it’s not my most exciting batch but feel free to leave any constructive criticism. I’m always finding new ways to improve because of my peers and friends. So thank you all.

That are some nice screenshots right there! I love the effects in all of them.

Same?

Good evening everybody.

After a couple of discussions with thy ReaperMC and RECEPTOR 17 on several occasions within the last couple of months, I am in an extremely giving mood tonight, and what I mean by that of course are more maps for people to create more fun and unique screenshots on. Believe me, I really want to see what people will come up with from these maps, and the first one I am going to share will hopefully put a smile on a lot of peoples’ faces.

Now, I am sure people remember In The Car in Landfall from April of last year, how I managed to painstakingly fit three Spartan-IVs into the Spade on Landfall. Well, my local friends at the time who helped me with this glitch cared about Halo 4 then and did not want me to share the method. Unfortunately, they do not anymore and migrated to Battlefield 4. Well, their migration is everybody’s benefit now  .

Spade Entry I
Spade Entry II

This glitch can be only done on Forge, and can be extremely difficult to pull off. The map is setup and ready to go in Forge. You will need five people, unless you have a really coordinated team of four people. You will need your three Spartans who will enter the vehicle, two of them doesn’t matter what weapons they have. The ‘driver’ will need an energy sword and will need to deplete it off one of the man cannons.

The fourth and fifth person will be monitors who move/remove/tinker with the man cannons accordingly. The person who is going to be in the middle should enter the Spade first, then the passenger, then the driver. If you are having difficulty, have the Spartans crouch before entering, or tinker with the man cannons. Once all three spartans are in the vehicle, have the monitors remove the man cannons, the passenger side first, then the driver’s side.

Make sure that the Spartans not in the middle try to move toward the middle when this occurs to prevent them from slipping out. This is hard to do, so this glitch can take quite some time and by that I mean hours to perform successfully via trial and error. Worse case scenario for those who might be impatient is get a quick screenshot when the man cannons are removed. Also, female Spartans work better than male Spartans for this glitch.

So, this is more or less the maps and the method ‘behind the madness’, so I hope everybody enjoys and I can’t wait to see what people do with this.

The next map I have to share is the custom map I set up on Abandon for my ‘Purple’ theme photo. By downloading this map, you shall see what FX and gadgets I used to create such a map lighting variant.

Haunted

I have more maps to share, but I have to create a new message for spacing reasons.

Edit: I see my system is glitching again, assigning my mother’s LIVE account name to my files again.

I also have several maps to share from Impact.

The first map was created with an old friend who goes by the name of Godssin69. We ended up modifying a custom map of his full of nasty explosive traps. By freak accident, we created a map with a Mantis with a mind of it’s own. While not being piloted, any vehicle put under it’s feet, it will stomp and kick the vehicle and sometimes, even turn to the direction the vehicle flew in as if it were upset with it. May I present the such map:

Kicking Mantis Version 1.1

This map is bound to make a group of people laugh, as it is insanity. To hear RECEPTOR 17 say “I haven’t laughed this much playing Halo since Halo 3” shows that the work Godssin and I did is hilarious. Also, when the Mantis is not present in the center of the area, if you fly a Banshee into the set of man cannons, manuevering certain ways while constantly thrusting will get some really neat Banshee FX. Last night, POD Dust Storm discovered this neat trick, and for even more hilarity started playing Surfing Bird(Bird is the Word). You just have to download and play the map to understand it.

The second map is another map created by Godssin69 and I. It’s weird, but awesome at the same time. It is a literal ‘Fiesta’ machine that dispenses weapons rather erratically. Once again, you just have to download and play it to understand it.

JamonA Fiesta MachineA!

The third map was previously a gift for those who participated in thy ReaperMC’s Devil’s Night 2013 Community Event, but I am now expanding the gift to the public.

Haloween V2

There are a lot of neat tricks and treats in that given map and it compatible with several game types. Flood, Regicide, Oddball, and Slayer. You have the Giant ‘Yoinking!’ Punkin, non-lethal landmines(Due to placement in the ground), secret area entries, etc.

I am really curious to see what people create screenshot-wise with these maps, as well as any possible stories as well. Now that the maps are out for download, it’s time to share some screenshots as well. To start off, about a week ago, Cizlin allowed me to join him for some Flood. In a round of Hivemind, compliments of his intelliect, we both won, earning a ‘Clever’ medal, giving me my first one ever. This is how we earned it, lol:

Clever

We eventually changed up the gametype to Capture the Flag, and had some good times.

Triple Mantis Kill
Flag Defense

There was something odd that happened though during that match. While defending RJCCJ, he had jumped over me while I was firing the detached turret and died, dropping the Flag onto me. The end result is quite funny and looks like my Spartan-IV is having a sarcastically good time.

Triggerhappy Jolly Good Time

As for that visor FX that stealth4ce discovered that I have been trying to figure out, I did make mention that on Wreckage with Juicy and Next Gen FXs active that around the set of cyan lights, there are two that will give the visor FX on about 40% of the visor depending on what visor you are using, but I forgot to show photos.

40% Visor FX Cyan Visor I
40% Visor FX Cyan Visor II
40% Visor FX Midnight Visor I
40% Visor FX Midnight Visor II

More screenshots to come in the next message, coming right up.

Edit: Link to Kicking Mantis fixed.

For the next set of screenshots, it is a small amount from the recently found ‘Incineration Piccies’ session I did with RECEPTOR 17 about a month ago, as well as pictures from the last two days form joining up in a session together for some ‘Fire’ themed photos. The results were pretty interesting, and it was also nice to have guest POD Dust Storm along as well.

Ghost Rider
What?
Explanations
To the Light
Fire Run
Fireball
Beacon of Destruction
Creeping
Wrath
Plasma Blast
Forerunner Explosion
Fireproof
Boom

That should be it along the lines of new photos for me, but now it is time to check out the other photographer’s photos and see what I missed.

Z6NITRO, I really like your photo ‘Flammable’ for the ‘fire’ themed contest. Very nice utilization of warm colors and elements combined perfectly for a very unique screenshot. 'Ignition is really amazing as well, nice utilization of the read team side of Adrift for the fiery FX on the wall. Well done with your photos.

Mecha Sh0ckwave, I wouldn’t be discouraged with the end result of ‘Rage Burns’. I think it is a very nice photo and that it utilizes the Regeneration Field/Autosentry rather well as it looks as if your Spartan has an angry look to it. I feel that you had some nice ideas for the ‘Fire’ themed contest, I would recommend being a bit more optimistic about your photos, as you have some great ideas and know how to implement them well.

Tayderp, ‘Ignition’ is a rather interesting photo. The pose of the Spartan seems to fit the warm colored background rather well and it looks as if there is some smoke int he background as well. Very nice combination of elements and well done with your recent photo.

MaverickT532, I see you have been playing around with the Juicy FX. You have some decent photos, but as a recommendation for better FX, may I recommend the combination of Juicy and Colorblind, or Juicy and Nova for some added ligthing and/or emphasis on the lighting. I hope that helps you out with future screenshot photos, as I feel you can do really well at taking such digital screenshots. You use elements to try to get your pictures to tell stories, and that is a plus. Just try messing around with the gadget FXs and see what you can come up with.

stealth4ce, you have some pretty different and unique FX in your photos as usual, each photos having an FX unique to itself, so well done with your screenshots.

Well, that is everything I have for now, have a great night everybody and keep the awesome screenshots coming  , and it’s good to see you back deluca34. Also, I hope my recent map contributions help add to the arsenal of many if not all the digital photographers here as well as give some laughs as well. New ideas and possibilities for everybody here  .

Thanks, dude! By the way, in those latest screenshots, I (well, actually WE (I got help from Z6NITRO)) actually used Juicy and Colorblind FX, you just can’t see them very well. Anyway, thanks for the tip!

Hmm… I’m not sure.
It does look kind of postery but I can’t really tell if it is the same effect or not. I’m going to go ahead and say that it’s probably not the same, or at least not done through the same process since the one I used was fairly complicated and also heavily reliant on trial and error… But… It is possible that you might have found a different way to achieve the same result.
I don’t know. How posterizationy does it make it? Haha yes I just used the word posterizationy.

And Devious… You threw me off guard. I’m so used to seeing colorful screenshots from you. Haha. We ought to take screenshots together again sometime.

Good afternoon everybody.

I hope everybody is appreciating the maps I have provided last night that will hopefully provide some nice screenshots. It has been brought to my attention that Kicking Mantis Version 1.1 was lacking a Scorpion Tank and a Wraith Tank. Also, I did a couple of small tweaks that can provide additional fun and keep the Mantis in it’s spot better. So, for those who provided feedback, thank you, and here is the revised variant:

Kicking Mantis Version 1.3

I hope that helps out and I hope that either variant can help out the photographers. Have a great day now everybody and keep the awesome screenshots coming  .

I finally got around to uploading this shot. The angle was really hard to work with because I was outside the map. I just really like the fact I managed to get this sepia effect without the use of Olde Timey c:

Deserted

Just my OCD or whatever kicks in big time when things like that happen but thank you for your comment it makes it worth it!

and naturally I always think I can do better I’m just limited by my current methods and very slowly trying new things.
