Predator is definitely an interesting concept. I really like the skeleton rib cage. It’s very original. I don’t think I’ve seen anybody else do anything with the rib cage like that.

Really good idea and you executed it well.

So… Overall it’s a pretty nice screenshot. The background is pretty interesting and the fact that you were able to squeeze two Spartans in is always more difficult than one. So your effort has been noted. I think it could have used a bit more action but even without it, the screenshot is still nice. It has a nice warm feel to it.

Howdy stranger. I can’t even express how excited I am that you’re posting these.
Ok so, here we go:

New Age:
Wow, this shot is very nice. The title and description make everything come together perfectly. The smooth textures, the solid light background, and the pose all seem to contribute to the idea that the past was filled with some sort of constant warring and the current is now pain-free. The player model looks like he’s expecting some sort of ambush or something, like he’s skeptical of the perfection. He just came from somewhere that was never peaceful, and how he’s immersed into this place where things will never be that way.
Really deep shot. Awesome. :slight_smile:

Our Aggression:
Man the title and description in this one also just make everything work out incredibly. The pose… Wow. He seriously looks like he’s out to kill. It’s like he doesn’t even give a second thought about it. He’s been dehumanized, like you said. Just there to finish the mission. If it means somebody dying, well, that’s not his problem.
You never fail to impress me with how you can look at a shot, create an underlying concept, and then get other people to share that same interpretation.

Event Horizon:
Well… You know how I feel about this shot.
It’s beautiful. And like I said last night (that was last night, right? Time ain’t nothin’ but a thang), a therapist could show it in a therapy session and instantly cure the patient. That’s how soothing it is. :smiley:

I really like the back ground and how well it goes with the colors of your armor.

@Tayderp - It is a tough call between “New Age” and “Our Aggression”. I like them both. I agree with Stealth4ce that the title “Aggression” really fits that screenshot.

Hey-o! I accidentally made way too many screenshots over the course of the past couple days so here are the ones I felt were most worthy of being shared. :slight_smile:

| WHAT HAUNTS YOU : The adversaries that plague you never leave. They only evolve.
^Ok so this one… I don’t know. It’s one of my several magnum submissions. Woohoo! I was experimenting with a pose because Tayderp inspired me with his geniosity… Geniousness? Whatever. So I toyed around with it and with an effect that somewhat resembles an X-ray, and this is what I got. I wanted to stick with the whole “dark” vibe so the title and description have to do with being haunted/plagued. Which, symbolism aside, really is just any burden. Like… Oh you have a test coming up and it’s very stressful. You take it and instead of all the worry going away, it stays because you get assigned another load of homework right after. That’s kind of what I’m getting at. So the burdens change, but you’re never burden-free. Here is another shot showcasing the effect. And here’s another magnum submission from the same game.

| OVERHEAT
^This one isn’t anything special… But I wanted to show it off because most of the shots that people get on the Outcast map are of the ringed planet. Well, I found this little moon in the sky and decided to snap a selfie with it. Except… It’s not really a selfie because the Spartan wasn’t holding the camera… But… Yeah.

| COLD HEARTED
^ An old friend of mine, RoyalBoss Ross was so bored that he decided to get on Halo 4 (his words, not mine) and he loaded up this map and we played on it briefly. He actually got some very nice ones either before or after the game we played. I just like mine because of the pose. It looks so thug.

| AFTERGLOW
^ I have no words. Except I do. I just wanted to start this off with “I have no words” because that makes it sound like the best thing that ever happened. Which you all might not appreciate quite as much as me but I think I had a heart attack when I found it. Basically it uses that same X-ray-esque effect but a different map and FX filters. I can’t really speak many good things about the composure of the shot because technically speaking, it’s a simple shots. It’s just all on the color and detail really. … … I hope you like it as much as I do. Otherwise I just look like a spastic nerd. Which… Ok that’d be a fair assumption.

So considering that I had a massive influx of new shots this weekend, I probably won’t be making more for a short period of time. But we’ll see. I’m hoping to see a lot of you on the magnum feature. Until next time! :smiley:

Good morning everybody. I am back from my little break from gaming. I have been a bit busy lately, creating new hands-on artwork and I even opened up an etsy store. before I start with photos, even though this will not be for sale, I do happen to have a hands-on can light I have recently created that is Halo related, and I am sure this will bring back memories for sure, as well as possible feedback.

I also want to congratulate everybody who’s photo was featured in the ‘love’ theme for the Halo Waypoint weekly photo themed contest. This was a contest that I honestly did not want to enter. I will be honest and admit the idea of valentines day did bring along some hurtful memories that I won’t talk about here, but a good friend of mine outside the Halo community helped me deal with that and helped me obtain a more optimistic opinion of such a day for the future.

So, let’s get back tot he main point, which is the awesome photos people have taken, first with the fellow photographer’s recent creations since my last posting.

Z6NITRO, I really like your magnum themed photos. I see you managed to use many elements in each of your photos from light sources to dynamic angles and even elements within Outcast itself to create awesome photos that do tell a story that go hand-and-hand with the name of the photo itself. In particular, I like ‘Predator’. Something about it on top of the awesomeness of the photo that I can’t put my finger on that reminds me of Reach. Keep up the great work on your photos.

Topsniper707, welcome to the screenshot community :slight_smile: . Please continue to post photos here and if you need any help, please don’t hesitate to ask. Nice combination of use of of FXs, lightsource, and elements within Solace. I can say ‘Magnum at the Ready’ is a very awesome warm colored photo. As for ‘Tainted’, are we supposed to rotate the image 90 degrees to the right? It really feels that if you do that, your Spartan-IV is flying back while shooting. Did you happen to use Juicy and Next Gen FXs in ‘Magnum at the Ready’? I am really looking forward to seeing what you will have to share for the future.

stealth4ce, you also managed to capture some awesome screenshots. I must say that ‘|What Haunts You’ has a very dark and cryptic feel to it. A very nice combination of lighting and the Colorblind FX, and the utilization of the ODST helm for a smooth white visor for the win. ‘|Overheat’ is a very nice warm colors photo. What I really like about this photo is the visor to the helmet looks damaged as if it has a hole in it, very nice effect. ‘|Afterglow’ is really awesome as it feels that you have literal ‘glow in the dark’ armor, which is a really nice effect. I am curious how you actually managed to pull this effect off, that is of course if you are willing to share. Awesome photos, keep up the great work.

I know Gothic Lucy has yet to post her newest photos, but she has some nice photos as well. ‘Jumper’ has a feel to it as if you are having your Spartan-IV go through the level Shutdown instead of Master Chief. Really awesome lighting and pose. As for Roseate Night, I am getting a Reach feel from this. Also,t he photo is rather vibrant and bright as well. Well done with your new photos and keep up the great work.

Come to think of it, I don’t think Receptor 17 posted his new photos either. The photos ‘ODST pair’ and ‘ODST Couple’ make some great ‘magnum’ themed photos. It has more of a feel of ODSTs communicating before going onto their next step in their commands that the initial theme of ‘love’, so hopefully one of those will be featured. As for ‘Planet Magnum’, nice utilization of lighting and angles for an awesome photo. This photo is ‘Computer Wallpaper’ worthy. ‘Magnum Ease’ is also a very nice photo as well. The photo gives the feel that your Spartan-IV is on an important mission in a desert based upon the Spartan’s position with the magnum and the background. Well done with your photos as well.

Tayderp, I am liking what I am seeing in your photos alot. I am really curious how you managed to get the angle you did in ‘Our Aggression’ , as I don’t see too many people using an angle like that. I can honestly say you showed the magnum as well as the Recon helmet in your photos. Keep up the awesome work with your photos.

I do happen to have two photos for the magnum theme. I was looking through some of my older photos, and found one from gameplay that gives me a bit of a chuckle. Let me know what you think.

I was messing around with a lot of elements on Landfall and ended up with a photo that leaves me a bit speechless. I used Juicy and Next Gen FXs, Speed Boost, Promethian Vision, six shield doors, blue lights, and a gravity hammer trying to get a nice ‘magnum’ themed screenshot. This would be debatable whether or not I a managed to get a good ‘magnum’ themed photo, but the photo is self is definately different.

For the wise, Tainted was a little bit of a goof on the “pose” side of things. It was really just me and my screenshot buddy trying to make use of the map Shattered. But on the brighter side of things, the warm welcome here is encouraging and appreciated. :smiley:

A new screenshot i have made this morning, Genesis, is partly an idea I’ve had for a while, but also samples the interesting idea that Azpekt297 made called Born to Die. The idea with a helmet in the ground is, in my opinion, a really versatile image as it can mean alot of things, as you could see from Reach, which is also where some of the idea such as the angle came from.

These are my newest handful of screenshots pointed and aimed towards the spotlight theme of Magnums.All of these have at least a magnum featured into it and each screenshot could be interpreted differently in meaning.There are brief starters to the screenshots below.

Jumper is portraying the feeling of panic and rush from where the Spartan is running away from a pursuer in a mirrors edge kinda’ city atmosphere at told by the building tops in the background.(long sentence)Taken on Perdition.

Roseate Night is a beautiful scene of Skyline’s clouds.Roseate was taken by a rose coloured shade of red and I thought that the shade would describe the pink quite well.This was more of a scenery like screenshot with a scout Spartan rather than a meaning.

Where One Dreams…is a screenshot that shows the loneliness of one such Spartan but could also show the desolate beginning of one’s dreams.Almost as if the scene could show the entry into a beautiful dream or nightmare depending on your take of the light.

@CryoDragon95 – I feel “Genesis” is excellent. I really like the concept and enjoyed how it made me want to step back and observe the moment.

@LizKing – Glad you are back. I think your “real world” artwork is very creative and really unique.

@Stealth4ce – My favorite of your 4 is “OverHeat”. What impressed me most was the color and shading, I really liked the stance and the crispness (is that a word?) of the screenshot.

Sorry for my abscence yet again, I was dealing with family matters of which I do not want to discuss due to respect of privacy. Congratulations to everybody who had their ‘magnum’ theme photo featured. Now that I have a moment, le tme see everybody’s new photos that were posted since my last reply. Before I do that, thank you Z6NITRO for the positive feedback on my recent photos. I can’t wait to see what photos you create when your technical issues are fixed.

I like your new batch of photos MrMartini85 . Each photo seem to utilize the combinations of FXs and lighting to create some unique photos for your Halo 4 photos. Apparently there were some details I previously missed on Vertigo that you managed to capture, so you also have a good eye for detail. My favorite photo out of the batch was ‘The Hell Jumper’, which was an extremely vivid dyamically colored photo with great use of angles and background. You Reach photo was also very nice. Well done with your photos.

Here is the link to topsniper707’s newest photo to help him out as using a moblie device can really be a pain: ‘Flash of the Blade’ . The photo is rather different in a good way. For a photo that would be great for the ‘Purple’ theme, I wouldn’t have expected to see a neat photo such as this, as the lighting is really amazing. Nice job on your new photo.

Cyrodragon95, you did an amazing job with your photo, ‘Genesis’. I am reminded of a Human-Covenant war with this photo as you managed to utilize many elements properly in the photo to give the feel of such a story. Well done on this photo, as I can tell it was well thought out as well.

I happen to have one new photo in my File Share, the on Z6NITRO mentioned called ‘Haunted’ . This photo in a way was inspired by recent events. On Abandon, I utilized the Juicy, Next Gen, and Colorblind FXs for this photo and after adding in essential elements and throwing around the oddball, this photo was the end result.

Alright I used the same technique as Flash of the Blade in my newest shot Ascension. I actually poured a little bit of time into this one. (Adjusted and improved for a while until I was satisfied.) Disregarding Flash of the Blade, thoughts on Ascension? I do appreciate and utilize the feedback. :slight_smile:

Alright so I’m back to share a couple shots that I’m using for the “purple” theme.

| EMINENCE
After researching various shades of purple, I stumbled upon “Eminence.” From where I was sitting at the time it looked like a similar shade of purple that my shot was so I went with it. Plus it’s a word that people are familiar with, so that helps too. Now… Just disregard the fact that I took the screenshot from the “forbidden angle.” Haha. I was just desperate to make something. I’ll admit it.

| BYZANTIUM
Also while I was researching various shades of purple, I found “Byzantium.” Pssh… I have no idea what it means. But apparently it’s a variation of purple, and it looks kind of like the purple I have in my shot, so… Yep. And… As far as the composure of the shot goes… I’ll be redoing it for sure. I was kind of going for an old-timey look but I didn’t do well with the pose or framing so I’ll definitely have to retry this one.

This is a recreation of the 2013 Comic Con poster for Godzilla 2014 and is my first time doing forge art. I think I did a good job for a first timer but I would really like to hear some feedback on it. To see if there’s anything I can improve upon in the future.
