Haha you’re old fashioned! Just kidding! That’s actually really neat that you hopped back on Reach. So, since you spent time doing screenshots, I reckon I ought to spend some time commenting on them. It stinks when you put effort into things and nobody pays attention to them.
I picked my three favorites out of the ones you posted. I’ll cover each one individually.

Mahogany Sky:
I like this shot particularly because of the effect. It’s very rare. This is taken from the surface of the water at the start of the mission, right? Well… It turned out pretty cool. It’s definitely tricky to find a spot in the water where it works and then make something cool out of it. So considering that, you did a nice job. It certainly makes for a cool screenshot with the silhouettes and the washed-out color scheme. And I know that it takes time to set up poses and such for screenshots, especially in campaign, but honestly I would recommend that you keep trying with that effect because you’ve definitely got what it takes to create an incredible screenshot.

Mist Hunting:
The thing I like about this one is that it looks like you’re in an abandoned mine shaft. I don’t know of anywhere else in the game that could give you that same look, and so I think you really hit the nail on the head with that one. At first I thought the pose was pretty plain… But then I started thinking of the shot in terms of your title. Mist Hunting. That actually fits perfectly! Suddenly it all pieced together. It looks like he’s slowly creeping through an abandoned mine shaft, “stalking his prey” so to speak. Very well done.

Lost:
Again the title is great for this shot. He legitimately does look lost. The way that he kind of appears to be hunched over makes him look a little more desperate to find somebody. Something. Anything. He’s out in the middle of nowhere (a “nowhere” with a really cool background I might add) running around in circles. So the fact that you can capture a shot and have that picture inspire an entire story in somebody’s head really means something. Great job, man.

Thanks for posting these. I really enjoyed checking them out!

Good evening everybody. I finally have a moment to share new photos again, and from what I see, we have some new photographers  .

stealth4ce, I can see you have some creative photos. Infrared in particular is very interesting. I’m getting a jungle feel from that with red smoke, which makes for a nice photo. Good utilization of elements, especially in ‘Raincloud 9’, which has a dark feel to it, as if a Storm is starting where that Spartan-IV is.

Mrhappysadass, you have some pretty interesting photos. I am impressed what you have accomplished by manipulating the lighting in your photos (or using dust clouds), and have created some awesome images that have a weathered feel to them. ‘Mist Hunting’ had a feel to it that the Spartan-III was going into a really old crypt, which is nice as well. ‘Energy Comsumption’ is really interesting as well. Well done with your photos.

I am also liking your photos MrMartini85. Each photo feels as if it is telling a story, and ‘Shiny’ just looks awesome. Well done with your photos.

Elite Tenure, your forge creations themselves are impressive, and you even managed to give them a feel of a story as well for the way you have taken the photos. Very awesome rose and computers you have created, as they are indeed original ideas. Very nice photos.

I must say I am very impressed with your new photos Gothic Lucy. ‘Systematic’ reminds me of if Halo were to have a mashup with The Matrix. The green color effect is very nice in the photo. As for your two ‘Utopia’ photos, they are both very nice. Why not keep both, as they are both very neat in my opinion.

Your newest photo actually reminds me of a wooded area Z6NITRO with a Spartan hunting. You managed to give the photo such an awesome wooded theme. Great job with your newest photo.

I do have some new photos to share and they are from an expanded Precollege event with my cousin as due to something out of his control, he had to wait until today to goto college. That allowed us to have another Halo day, which we played more Team Action Sack and with that came more awesome photos, including ones for this weeks feature, which from what I understand is an ‘Explosion’ theme. Here are a couple I did not post yet that I have created for the feature if they are chosen.

Toasty
Forced Entry
From the Light

‘Toasty’ was dumb luck to have an incineration cannon shot and a frag grenade exploding in the same spot at the same time, creating the awesome effect you see. The other two photos was all about timing, which seemed to come together perfectly while playing. I do also have several more favorites from the Precollege Halo day I had with my cousin.

Argon Lighting
Reflection
Red Energy Vs. Blue Energy
Arcing Rocket?
I Present to you a Railgun
Warped
Cousins I
Cousins II
Cousins III

Once again, you can view all of the photos from the two nights here . Also, a thank you to Gothic Lucy again and to her friends as well for making the first night full of laughs for my Cousin and I by inviting us to those awesome gametypes. I hope that everybody has enjoyed the new photos I have shared, and keep those awesome photos coming  .

@Lizking - Thank you! My favorite of your “Explosions” was “From the Light” with the mini’s, diamond flooring and oversized weapons. Glad to hear you got an extra Halo day with your cousin, looks like ya’ll had a fun day

@MrMartini85 - “Hold the LZ” was my Favorite. The colors are really vivid and I like the armor theme of ODST and Spartan. Thank you for sharing your Reach screenshots. My favorite of the three was “Hair Pull”. I have not seen this possibility in Halo 4 screenshots.

@MrHappySadAss - Thank you for sharing your Reach photo’s as well. I think “Super Grunt” would have absolutly fit in this weeks Halo 4 Explosion theme! Great screenshots all.

@Stealth4ce - My favorite of your 3 was “Infrared”. I really like the presence of the Spartan in the background along with the fauna, colored cloud, and hit splash.

I left the serenity (simplicity) of the forest to play on this weeks theme “Explosions”. I have come up with these three. Hope you like!

Wishing all a great remainder of the weekend and good luck on this weeks theme!

Okay, “Moving On” is quite the epic screenshot.

I found a shot recently in my fireshare that I never uploaded, it’s from when the Championship Bundle first launched:
Is This What They Meant By “Shock” Tropper?

Here are 5 shots from a match on the Team DLC playlist they just launched today. It was some of the most fun I’ve had on Halo 4 since Ricochet first dropped.

(I like to spruce my screen shots up a bit, thus the outside image host)

Hey thanks man! It’s funny because that shot was just an accident. I mean I was in a game with a couple friends and I was just experimenting and I got that. Surprisingly it was received the best out of my recent shots even though it’s my least favorite. Haha. It’s one of my least creative pieces ever.

So I checked out your shots. I like your entries, dude. I particularly liked your “Moving On” shot.

The Spartan is framed nicely. It makes it really easy to look at. And the mantis in the background is a nice touch. I also like the contrast between the light of the explosion in the background and the slightly darker foreground. The way that you are holding the rocket launcher makes it much more interesting. It wouldn’t be the same if you were holding it regularly. Well done.
Overall I just like your concept in general. The title is very fitting for what we’re seeing in the screenshot. He looks like he’s just gotten some bounty hunting job done and now he’s moving on. Maybe onto another target, perhaps. Whatever you envisioned, it turned out nicely.

Hi gothic really like all the screenshots but my favorite ones are the ring and protector the coulors and the lighting are so cool.

> All Brand New Screenshots  yours truly within the Silver Collection.

Hey there!
Ok so here we go, I’ll just go down the list and comment on each shot.

Reminiscent:
I like the lighting. It’s really neat how there is a bunch of light flooding in behind the Spartan. That’s highly symbolic, and fits the title well. Some people consider memories to be gold, and in this picture the player is remembering those golden memories as he moves on. That’s pretty deep right there.

Borealis:
I love the coloring of this shot. It has a nice soft blue-ish green tint to it. That’s really cool. And at first I thought that the player was framed pretty awkwardly, seeing as he’s small up in the corner. But then I took on a new perspective. One from a bug’s eyes. There’s a bug in the grass, you see, and he’s looking up at the tree where the gecko sits. Yep. Haha. I know that wasn’t the theme you had in mind… But… That’s how I interpreted it.

The Ring:
Eh… The background certainly has a lot of potential. The pose is simple but appealing. The coloring, however, I am having a harder time digesting. I think it’s just because it seems to… Common. But that’s just me. And I must say… That’s a sweet helmet you’re wearing there. Honestly… I know that it’s not exciting to redo screenshots all the time but I’d be interested in seeing more shots with this background. I think you could do better.

Protector:
Very cool shot. I like how you used the lens flare to your advantage and the pose is refreshing as well. The colorblind filter was awesome as it accents the lighting. I feel like the framing could use a bit of work. And by a bit of work I mean that it could do some good to have the camera scoot a smidge to the left. But… Even that’s not a big problem. Well done!

Nice job and I hope to see more!

Another image iv’e made recently, it’s an idea that, again, isn’t used too often, but i can understand why. I tried experimenting with fire effects and got Blaze. It’s my second ODST screenshot. I was trying to portray the signature ‘feet first into hell’ side of it this time. I got various angles and although it might not look like it, this one is the best i got, in my opinion. it looks a little washed out and the effect is a bit strong, but as said i understand why it isn’t used alot.

Also, for those interested, in my first ODST screenshot, Equinox, i tried showing the point of view of seeing what the ODST was doing in his actions i.e. the feeling of freedom. Whereas Blaze i tried showing more of the ODST’s perspective instead.

Good evening everybody.

I do happen to have some more photos to share with you with a bit of news as well. Before I do that, I see some more creative members of this forum have captured some new images that are really amazing. Also, before I forget, I wanted to congratulate everybody who’s photo was featured in this week’s ‘Explosion’ feature.

Gothic Lucy, I have seen your new creations and they are really amazing, especially ‘The Ring’. Once again, you have created unique amazing photo that leave people speechless. I honestly dunno where you manage to come up with the amazing ideas, but keep utilizing them by all means.

Z6NITRO, I am happy to hear you liked ‘From the Light’. Your new photos by the way you have them setup seem to tell stories by the elements you used in them. I am impressed, especially with ‘Banshee BOOM!’ Keep up the awesome work.

MrMartini85, all your new photos seem to have some really nice lighting to them. Was that lighting photoshopped, or from the game itself. I am curious as you really managed to bring out the colors of the armor of the Spartan-IVs in your photos.

CyroDragon95, I like the idea of a fire effect you are trying to pull off in ‘Blaze’. I am curious to exactly how you are doing so. Would that effect be from an incineration cannon, or a shield of a Spartan-IV being knocked out? Either way, you managed to create a really cool fiery effect.

I have been playing some more Team Action Sack lately and I was playing a game of Mini Slayer. Oddly though, the game glitched and one spartan from each team was normal sized. I had some thoughts come to mind due to this and wondered what assassination animations would look like. The results are absolutely hilarious and I honestly hope one of these photos does make a future Fun Friday Caption. Let me know what you think and enjoy  .

Before I go, apparently there is another wave of spam and hate-taggers coming along again and leaving ignorant and improper tags on photos. If they leave their name in the tag, do not message them. Report these spam and hate tags to BS Angel or deluca34, and they will do what they can to remove them. Don’t let those people bother you. Keep posting your awesome and unique photos everybody :). Have a great night now.

I like it already. Throughout the Halo games, the ODST helmet has stayed constant in its ability to deliver a message, an emotion. Just from reading your blurb about your screenshot, it’s clear that you’ve infused quite a bit of emotion into the shot.

As far as the screenshot itself goes… I have to admit- that is a nice effect. Me and lizking are in the same boat. I’m curious to know what that is! It looks kind of like the lift in the center of the Solace map, or, no- wait. I got it. It’s the tubes on Perdition, isn’t it? I don’t know. I could be wrong.
Like you said, it does seem a little washed out. When pinned against the title, I feel like it could use more saturation. But for the concept of the screenshot… I really like it. It really accentuates the emotion of feeling hopeless as he’s thrown into a battlefield that may just be doomed to destruction. But… He’s not fighting for himself, so he tries to push aside his feelings as the battle rages on. Is that what you were going for? Because that’s what I got out of it.
As for the angle goes… I think it’s just fine! It leaves plenty of room to show off that nice effect. I mean the helmet is really the key player in this screenshot, and it follows the rule-of-thirds pretty closely, so you get an extra clap from me.

Well done man! I hope to see more soon!

I’m really glad that I finally decided to sign up on Halo Waypoint… It’s neat being able to actually comment on peoples’ screenshots again (RIP bungie.net private groups: Mythic Photographers, Forever Forgers, Point and Shoot).
Anyway- I decided to get on Halo 4 and do some picture-ing… That’s a thing, right? Haha. A friend of mine, Tayderp, finally decided to come out of retirement and take some screenshots with me just like in the olden days (Reach). So, really these are my tribute to him. It was his idea to take screenshots with this effect, after all.

| HEAT STROKE
This one I chose to keep because I felt like both the effect and the pose fit the title. When things work together like that- you know you have to go with it. So… The picture’s warm tones naturally give it a hot feeling. So when I saw the pose, I immediately thought: “Wow… It looks like he’s fainting from heat exhaustion or something.” It looks like he’s falling into what could be tongues of fire. I don’t know. That’s up for interpretation.

| SLEEP WALKER
This was in the same game, but a much different result than intended. I chose to keep this shot because it reminded me of my old | PUPPET SHOW screenshot. Basically there is a monitor in the background who kind of looks like it might be controlling the Spartan. Maybe. That might just be me. The pose was important. I don’t really know if there’s any particular way that people walk when they’re asleep, so naturally I consulted my knowledge of movies and such in which entranced people would walk in a manner that could be compared to zombies. I felt like this pose did that idea justice. But, again… That’s up for interpretation.

> MrMartini85, all your new photos seem to have some really nice lighting to them. Was that lighting photoshopped, or from the game itself. I am curious as you really managed to bring out the colors of the armor of the Spartan-IVs in your photos.

Yeah, it’s a filter or two that I tweaked for screen shots. I find that they’re quite dull in color (especially Reach), I like to download and touch them up a bit. It’s the same kind of “Bleach-bypass” filter they use in films to make them look super-gritty.

Here’s your Scaring the Giant with the filter (it’s actually a few filters).

BTW, nice shots

Thanks alot for the opinion, that was exactly what i was going for  its nice to see that even a picture that didn’t turn out exactly how i wanted it could still convey this to you.

Speaking of which, i have made a second, MUCH more improved version of it. This Blaze has had various improvements, including better saturation, better angle, pose, colouring and effect. To be honest the camera is maybe a little bit too far out this time, but frankly i wanted the fire to be convincing.

Good Evening/Morning everyone!

Congratulations to all with screenshots selected in this weeks Halo Bulletin theme “Explosion”.

Next weeks theme is “Nature”.
Interesting - we are going from “Let’s blow something up!”, to “wait, let’s stop and pet a bunny” :relaxed:

I am really looking forward to the nature theme and to everyone’s screenshot selections.

@Lizking – Thank you! My favorite of your Giants is “I’m Phychic”. It appears your mini has the situation well in hand!

@Stealth4ce – Thank you! My favorite of your latest post is “Heat Stroke”. Clear, crisp and excellent color contrast. Congratulations on “Infrared”! Several of my screenshots have also been “accidents” and it is always a “feel good” moment for me when they are well received.

@Cryodragon95 – really cool effect!
I think the visor, armor edging and secondary armor color standout the most. I wonder what color they were and if that color as the primary armor color would allow your Spartan silhouette to standout more? Great Screenshot.

@Gothic Lucy – I really, really liked “Borealis”. I liked the atmosphere, setting and the solitude it projected. I just finished my first Halo book “First Strike” and Borealis made me think of Linda. :relaxed:

@MrMartini85 – Thank you! “Suppressing Fire” was my favorite of your post. I thought the yellows and reds stand out and went well with the dark blues and greens of the background. I also liked the setting of your Spartans backed in a corner. Nice job on all 5.

Looking forward to the weekend, good luck to all participating in the upcoming Nature theme.
Thank You All for posting your screenshots, commenting and giving feedback!

Yeah man it looks really appealing either way. Great job! It definitely looks more like fire this time and it still retains that same emotion.

Thank you, sir! I appreciate the feedback.
And yeah this should be good. I think this gallery has potential to be one of the most inspiring if people play their cards right. I know my friend Tayderp has several really deep scenery shots on his file-share that could potentially make it on the update.
I’m looking forward to seeing everybody’s submissions!

There’s been tons of amazing screenshots by everyone the past few pages. I haven’t posted anything here in a long time, but here’s some of my new screenshots…

Smashing enemies. Scoring goals.
~ this screenshot was taken during the 343 Day live stream when I was playing Grifball Dash with runNOKYARDrun from GrifballHub, and 343 Industries!

Smooth Moves.
~ this one is funny, -Yoink!-, and cool. I think it’s actually pretty good

Snuff’d
~ I would love to see this featured in the Grifball playlist’s screenshot spotlight… I used Juicy, Colorblind, and NextGen on Solace – plus the explosion of a Forge Monitor to add very vibrant and warm colours to the background. The player is swinging their Gravity Hammer and using its blade rather than the gravity-blast effect.

Grifball Pro
~ this may look very simple with Grif using Speed Boost in front of a beautiful backdrop in Haven… but this screenshot actually took me a very long time to get the exact animation, timing, and posture for the player. Not only did I have to endure the random determination of which arm is being used for the beatdown, but I also had to hope for the proper placement and angle of both legs. However, I’m very happy with the finished product, and it’s meant to be a “successor” to my original and popular Grifball screenshot used on HaloWaypoint, OXM, and other news websites when Grifball was first announced to be featured in the Halo 4 Matchmaking playlist.

Next week’s HaloWaypoint spotlight will be on Nature screenshots… Here’s two old screenshots that I tagged with Nature, so hopefully either one of these are featured next week…

Tomorrow
~ I’m actually surprised with how many downloads and likes this screenshot has. It’s a low camera angle viewing the mountains and sky on Ragnarok. There are “promethean ashes” scattered and dancing in the wind.

Longbow Sky
~ from December 2012, this old screenshot of mine is still one of my personal favourites.

~ oObeX
