I’m back again folks! Been having a teensy bit of fun going around Harvest to try and get some good Screenshots, but as Smileyken mentioned, it’s pretty difficult trying to find good spots.
@ Smileyken - “343gs” is the ultimate winner for me, very simple but also very striking with the colorblind addition. One thing to remember, ensure you tag your Screenshot with “Halo Waypoint” so it gets noticed by BS Angel/Bravo for the Bulletin. Just added onto “343gs” for you.
@CBW010 - That Green and Blue homaged screenshot is absolutely fantastic! The posing of Chief’s excellent and you managed to get that blue background look very authentic! Your “John” Screenshot is also amazingly great too! Perfect colouring tied in with the neutral background. I believe 0iah also featured in on his Twitter feed a day or two ago as well!
@Z6Nitro - “FOTUS UnderGlass” is a really unique Screenshot! Great idea and execution! I love the darkness combined with the lights form the armour tying in with the hardlight shield!
BRIGHT EYE5 - Snap! So it’s not just me who had a dabble in going for old-style Halo Wars Screenshots! You really made a superb Screenshot with “A War All Too Familiar”, the shadowing and framing of the Spartan’s fantastic! Did you use Juicy and Colorblind for that? I like the simplicity of “The Fall” with it’s clean backgorund and sole focus on the Mk V armoured Spartan. Perfect for any post-editing on Photoshop and the like!
++++
As said above, I myself have also been busy on Harvest and have taken a handful of Screenies, focusing mostly on the scenery beyond the map with my Spartan, but have also taken a few inside some spots.
First of all, two things I have found whilst playing on Harvest:
If you want to get a better shot of the JOTUNs or the Space Tether in the background of your Spartan/Monitor, just ‘zoom in’ whilst in Theater. Not only do you get closer to the Spartan, but the background also zooms in, so if you go back a little and take a Screenshot, you’ll have the whole Spartan, plus a closer view of the Scenery behind. I used this trick to get a Screenshot of the JOTUNS, as seen here.
If you use Promethean Vision, it doesn’t travel over to the distant scenery. It certainly makes for some surreal Screenshots.
And onto some of my other creations:
- Early Memory - A very simple Screenshot I made with the Mark V armour and having Colorblind, Next Gen and the Olde Timey FXs active. I made sure I had simple Assault Rifle and Magnum too, so it looked more authentic and Halo Wars style.
After that, I went with mostly using the Spartan Laser for this next, as the red light contrasts nicely with the colour of the map. The EVA helmet also reflects light brilliantly too, especially in the darker parts of the map so I went with that.
- Laser Up - Taken as I was switching weapons, I managed to angle the ‘camera’ up so I could get the Sun’s glint on the Spartan.
- Charging Up - I used the zoom in method I mentioned earlier to get the Scenery look closer for this one, whilst angling the Laser up so you can see the JOTUNS and the space tether in the background.
- Death Glow - Taken in one of the darker corridors on Harvest, where you find the plants etc. I also did one with the beam being visible too, can’t really decide which one I like more tbh!
- Rail Screen - Taken in the same corridor, but with a Railgun and by the screens. Not much to say on this one.
- Magnum Run - Simply me sprinting whilst holding a Mangum. I’m really happy with how I managed to frame the scenery behind the Spartan, again using the zoom in effect.
- Into Darkness - Bit of a fun trick I found, when I have juicy and Colorblind active, shadows are accentuated so in the corridor, I found that there’s a stark change form light to dark, which made this piece work.
And that’s it for me! Sorry for another long essay, I do try to cut it down each time…I must try harder!
