Share your idea for a custom/mini-game

As there is now the introduction of new equipment, bots and new weapons/vehicles in halo this sets up a great tool set to create some interesting custom/mini-games.

I thought we could use this thread as an opportunity to share great ideas for maps and gametypes to be created by the community when the game is released to make sure custom games is a hit as early as possible.

So please share any ideas you have (no matter how crazy) and here’s some quick ideas I have:

  1. Dodgeball - all ready a mini game but can be enhanced with the use of the repel equipment
  2. Rocket Tennis - fire a rocket and both sides just keep using repel to hit the rocket back and forth…?
  3. Spiderman CTF - Some kind of map with not much floor but unlimited grapple to constantly be swinging from place to place. everyone spawns with swords
  4. Duck hunt - Enchanced this mini game with more bots!
  5. Rocket race - Using the ridgback with teams of 4

Some kind of pirate game mode where you can use the grapple hook to get on to another ship

  1. Super fiesta where you spawn with both random weapons and random equipment equipped.
  2. Repulsor tennis where you have to bounce a plasma grenade around until someone times it wrong.
  3. Grapple infection in which the zombies can grapple you towards them like in Left4dead (GET OVER HEREE)

Something to make use of the Razerback storage section. Maybe CTF where the flag spawns in the vehicle and you need to stay on the move.

This mechanic should inspire someone to make a Halo version of the movie “Speed”. You have to race your razorback through terrain with a load of bombs in the back that explode if you go below a certain speed

Well, an old mobile shooter I used to play had a game mode called InstaGIB, played in Free-For-All format, where everyone uses one specific weapon which shoots out a single, non-continuous beam when fired, and the twist is that one beam is all it takes to kill players in this mode.
The best weapon for this in Halo would be the the Sentinel beam, which could be reconfigured (but only in this game mode) to fire out a single beam with a short cool down before being able to fire again.

That same game also had Freeze Tag, but that probably wouldn’t be fun in Halo. At all. Not the game mode’s fault, though.

Other than that, I’m thinking of a ‘personnel transport’ mode for 2-4 players in which everyone gets a Pelican (or Falcon might be better) and a number of bots to ride in the back of each one, with the goal being to safely get through a dangerous course with as many passengers remaining as possible. Naturally, hitting hazards would cause the players to lose passengers, and if a player loses all their passengers, it’s game over for them!

This would be cool if we are able to do this. You could even use on a race/obstacle course where the further you get it gets harder to keep up the speed.
