Why I think you should download this map- I’ve tested it and it plays very well. It’s balanced and they’re are literally no camping spots. It’s not just all grey, I came up with a green effect (Not with FX) from lights, so I think it looks good.

Map Download: Transgressus

Map Middle View

Overview

Number of players on map: 16 players support.

Notes:

I highly recommend Transgressus to be played for CTF with a minimum of 12 players but is better with 16 players, a 15-20 min CTF with all what I said, may be the best experience you can get.

This map works with all slayer gametypes, CTF even speedflag, KOTH,oddball, headhunter, etc. Does not works for: Territories, Stockpile, Invasion and Bro slayer.

Questions? send me a private message if needed.

Erm, here is my map pack that I recently released: [http://www.forgehub.com/forum/reach-competitive-maps/127364-hydro-map-pack.html

](http://www.forgehub.com/forum/reach-competitive-maps/127364-hydro-map-pack.html)I wont post the map details because there is four of them and inside the link has tons of info about the maps including screenshots. Please check them out.

I have created a new map that I call Menouthis.

This map was originally met to be a Infection community made map, but once I got started… I couldn’t stop adding more and more to it. Before I knew it, it was too big for infection! It was at that point I decided to toil away at making it perfect for Big Team Battle, Team Slayer, Free For All, and other playlist. And here I am, hoping that people will download my map and test it for me.

Back story of the map: A deserted installation ravaged by earthquakes and rockslides. Menouthis is the name of a city in ancient Egypt that was destroyed and buried in the sand, which was the inspiration to the map’s name. Since it was originally supposed to be an infection map, I wanted people to feel as if they were trapped and unable to escape. However, I think the destruction makes a nice addition to what I now believe is a shoo-in for a BTB map.

Want some screenshots? Here you go.

Menouthis Overview Part 1, this is the right side of the overview.

Menouthis Overview Part 2, this is the left side of the overview.

Menouthis Load-Out Screen This is subject to change if I find a cooler way to envision the map.

Red Team’s Spawn

Circular building near blue’s spawn

Blue Team’s Spawn with the collapsing tower visible behind.

Building in the left corner of the map.

Clear view of broken satellite.

Building that houses teleporter, Covy grenade launcher, and spartan laser. Broken bridge visible on right.

Below red team’s spawn.

Building that houses two lifts and teleporter receiver. Next to red team’s spawn.

There are other spots, such as a cave, two rockslides, and the inside of a few buildings that I did not take screenshots of, because I couldn’t find good vantage points to take screenshots from!

Note picky people should be aware of:

  1. I PAINSTAKINGLY tried to make it as PERFECTLY EVEN and as REAL WORLD PHYSICS FRIENDLY as possible. There are just a few teeny tiny places that are just a bit uneven, and they are hard to spot (excluding the circular building, I had to lay it over another juuuuuust right to make the inside even). So, if you are one of those people (like me) who hate it when a map has bumps along areas that should be flat, you should have problems.

Q & A

Q: How long did it take you to make this map?
A: Too damn long. Seriously. It took me at least a month to complete, and about 20-30 hours in forge world banging my head against the wall as I tried to make everything perfectly even.

Q: Why did you make this map?
A: I… felt like it? Actually, I like creating maps, and have done it for several other games online.

Q: Why name it Menouthis?
A: Does it sound tacky? If so, I don’t care. I explained earlier that an ancient destroyed town was my inspiration.

Q: Why make it unsymmetrical?
A: I don’t really like symmetrical maps. Don’t get me wrong though, I hated the way blue team had an advantage on Paradiso. I just like maps that aren’t perfectly alike on each side. It is boring, and it brings me down.

Q: How long will the beta take?
A: I dunno. However long it will take for it to not receive constructive feedback… Wait… that would mean it would NEVER end. Um… It will end when I’m satisfied.

Q: Do you think it is good enough to be a permanent community map?
A: Of course not! I mean, why else would I put it up on the Halo forums!? Sarcasm aside, yes, I do believe this map is good enough to be a permanent addition to Halo: Reach’s map list.

Q: Are there any easter eggs?
A: Technically there are two. Technically, they aren’t really amazing easter eggs. Technically, they used to be parts of the map.

Q: How many game types was it created for?
A: Everyone of them. Well, almost. I want it to be used for: FFA, BTB, Team Slayer, Assault, CTF, Oddball, and Juggernaut. But I think it could still be used for infection, after all, it is probably as big as boardwalk.

Q: What is with the weapons spawns?
A: If you are talking about the Fuel Rod Cannon… I like it. I made sure both teams had access to sniper rifles, shotguns, and a few other minor weapons. But, I also made it so that only one team would get a few other special weapons. Namely the concussion rifle, the fuel rod cannon, the rocket launcher, the sword, and the grenade launcher.

Q: Why should I try it out?
A: If it becomes a full blown community map that is added to the game, you will know the map’s layout and where the weapons spawn. That means you will have an advantage for a week or two you diehard -Yoink-! And if you aren’t a diehard -Yoink-, I’m sorry for calling you a diehard -Yoink-.

Q: If I give you constructive feedback, will you listen?
A: Most likely. Probably. Maybe. Perhaps.

Final thoughts:

Please download and try my map!

I’m not lying when I say I put a whole lot of work into it’s creation, so I would appreciate it if people at least took a look at it!

This map will blow your mind and test your stamina like no other map has in the past.

Follow the link to the Cubeskew 2: Skewed Harder Forge Hub thread for information, pictures, a video and the download links.

> Do you have a map or gametype you have made, but need to test it out to make sure it plays right? Maybe you found an awesome map that you think everyone should have. I’m going to post a few templates you can use to submit a map, or review a currently submitted one! Keep in mind, I’m not saying everyone has to post their maps in here. I’m just giving everyone an opportunity to have their maps tested and criticized by other community members.

This map is a symetricle (NOT ASYMETRICLE) slayer map that is built in the area under asylum. This map is very colorful and is a good change from the boring grey maps.

I felt that no smaller maps included vechicles in reach so i added a ghost and a mongoose to each side.
I have only tested with 4 friends and it was fun and played well

Hey OP, I’m a member of the group that runs the Remakes thread over in Bungie.net

we’re currently working on getting a new one made up here in the Waypoint forums. We’ll send you a link as soon as it’s finished. We’re doing some major overhaul with it too. Expect to see many more of your favorite maps remade VERY soon.

Edit: It’s now up in the Forge forum (here).
