Sgt. Johnson

Can I just say that for being almost 80 that Johnson looked amazing and pretty fit for his age. When I read his profile it completely threw me off guard because I would have thought he was a lot younger.

That’s a result of cryosleep. He was in his 70s when he died based purely on date of birth to date of death, but the effects of cryosleep make his true age much younger. It would be difficult to calculate that, because we don’t know exactly how many days/months/years Johnson spent in cryosleep over the course of his entire life

And also because of his ORION (“SPARTAN-I”) augmentations.

His ORION augmentations also helped him not get infected by the flood

It’s too bad to see that he died from being blasted with a Sentinel Beam. After everything he had been through, that had to have been rough. I can’t help but wonder if something could have been done to help his wounds long enough to get him to a cyro-tube and keep him alive long enough for someone to save him. Then again, the more I think about it, the more I realize no matter what, he would have passed away. I continue typing this out and continue to realize that he would have had to endure so much more before seeking help.

Disregard. LOL! Johnson was amazing and it stunk to see him die.

It absolutely sucked, but I can’t imagine Halo 4’s underlying theme of John discovering his humanity working well if Johnson was alive. When Johnson died, Cortana was the first person (or thing) to try to comfort John. When she died at the end of the game, there was no one there who truly understood him who could console him like she did when Johnson died. Lasky tried, but had no success.

That’s fair but I can’t help but wonder what things would have been like had Johnson lived. “What if”, you know?

I’m definitely gonna miss his trademark scowl and motivational speeches. Thankfully I can just play the MCC and get my fill whenever I want!

Fair point. Johnson was such a great character. I would have loved to see him survive and continue on through the series.

cryo sleep should be real
