The flood didn’t kill him in CE because he had the weird disease that made him immune to infection by the flood and CE’s legendary ending is obviously not canon so, no. He’s dead, GET OVER IT.

I will correct you, read the books, it explains how he survives. Sgt johnson is definately dead this time sorry. Thank your good ol pal guilty spark for that

Read First Strike and it will explain why Johnson is alive in Halo 2. Also, if 343 twisted the major parts of the story to fit what they want to do, then they fail as the successors to Bungie.

Halo 5 plot:

Chief gets to Earth expecting a statue of him but there isn’t there’s one of Johnson so he gets enraged and blows up Earth.

He was shot by guilty spark, and then left on the Halo Ring that exploded. The only ones off of that ring and through the portal was Arbiter, Chief.

He’s Dead end of story. he is not coming back.

“Hug me, baby.”

Oh, I’d love to correct you.

Johnson was not affected by the Flood because his Spartan I augmentations messed up his nervous system so bad the Flood just passed him over, where he was able to escape.

The Legendary Ending is not canonical at all. In truth, Johnson was hightailing it off the ring on a Pelican at that time, to later meet up with Chief’s Longsword and they board a Covenant flagship.

In Halo 3, Johnson was blasted by Spark, slid off the platform, got hit by the Halo’s primary fire, then was vaporized (if not already) by the ring/ark’s destruction.
Johnson is dead. There are canonica reasons for his survival from CE, the Legendary Ending was not canonical.

Mods, ban him! He’s posting spoilers!

:stuck_out_tongue:

Only possibility for his survival is if Mendicant Bias transported him to another installation at the last second. But then that touchy, saddening moment at the end of Halo 3 would be meaningless.

Hes escaped death by a very thin thread once already, doing it again would be cheesy and wouldn’t be good for the story.

As much as probably all of us wish he could come back, he should stay dead and be remembered as the best damn marine to ever live.

Not only is he alive, but he will be revealed as Master Chief’s father.

He totally warped back in time…

Best. NPC. Ever.
