This is how Sev sees it…343i bein new to the business needs to attract a fresh customer base…after all they’re a business first. So, they build Halo from the ground up using inspiration and ideas gathered from existing franchises( studios have done this for years, this is nothing new…The only reason I suspect people are being sore over is that Call of Duty was the inspiration) to cast a fresh net…
Now, I respect the competitive community up to the point where they think their way is best for a game…Halo has always been about accessibility for inexperienced players so they wouldn’t be turned away by the more veteran players by giving them tools to stand a chance in hell…MLG introducing its’ settings to Halo 3 was both a blessing and a curse…Blessing in the sense where players fought like hell for their wins and a curse in the sense where gullible individuals were baited with the rank and prestige the internet places over it…Account selling, boosting, basically poisoning the game inside out. I suspect Reach deviated from the 1-50 system in order to cut out those types of players(and good riddance)…Halo 4 may be trying to pull out that accessibility once again and since this year’s trend is customization custom loadouts have been added to the series…yes yes it’s pretty much like Call of duty but Sev is curious to see how this will work with Halo…I seriously doubt that a copypasta experience will surface…
Here’s how Sev will suggest matchmaking be formatted…

armor abilities
reticle expansion(if in game)
basically what 343 is changing about Halo

MLG sponsored settings(if they so choose to get involved)

The general idea is to attempt to cater to all player aspects as much as possible…That way no group will feel betrayed or alienated if you know what I mean.

Honestly, I think this is a great idea… incorporating much of what made each of those previous Halo titles awesome in their own respect, into the new series, could be the best thing that 343i does with their take on the franchise.
While I’m a fairly decent player, that likes to play for the sake of playing, I do like a challenge, and seeing how the “pros” go at it is always fun. But I agree that it shouldn’t be one or the other. You should be able to choose how you want to play.
(Now if we could just get ALL the maps from ALL the games into there… hmm )
Also, as for the CoD elements being added… yes, while most of us can agree that we dislike CoD for one reason or another (or maybe you like it), the point is, some of the elements it uses are a lot of fun, and I think that 343i -if anyone- can take those elements, and improve on them. Could I be catastrophically wrong? Of course. But I’m willing to give it a shot.

Little bit of a harsh come back dude. And he doesn’t have to deal with your opinion. As ever,its just an opinion from your perspective,but don’t force it on people like that,it just makes you sound a tad bit mean. And these threads of ‘How I think etc. Should work in Halo 4’ are getting boring.

The point is that he made a post seeking intelligent discussion and maybe feedback on his thoughts. You sir, do not have to care about his opinion. In fact, if you didn’t care, why bother posting in the first place?
Maybe I’m expecting too much intelligent discussion from a internet forum. This is why college sucks. Teaches you how to think/debate/analyze intelligently, and then you go out in the real world, and realize that no one cares. /rant (sorry… got a bit off-topic there)

maybe it was a little harsh…As for this thread…I think you’ll find that it’s just a drunken idea that I thought I would share and in now way shape or form expect it to be taken seriously…I don’t come here often to keep tabs on what’s been discussed. Bottom line, don’t care about my opinion don’t bother posting…it simply leads to derailment.

As I clarified in a post above, I had not realised he was speaking in the third person. I was under the impression he was passing on the opinion of another, as many threads have done in the past.
I think “classic” playlists are a waste of time and recourses (population). I wish they’d give up all this sprint and AA and load-out nonsense, but I wasn’t appeased with the classic playlist in Reach and I probably won’t be in H4.
