I already submitted a support ticket but I wondered if anyone else has experienced the same issue.
I usually play on PC these days, but did purchase an XBox One and MCC a few years before the PC version’s release. A friend told me recently that he had never played Halo and wanted to try it out, so I suggested that he come over and play co-op on my Xbox and we could play through the series.
This was just after the Season 8 update, so I allowed the game to update before he arrived. My friend came over and tried to configure his controller settings. The game froze. I restarted it and tried again. Same result. I tried to configure my own settings. Game crash.
It seems that attempting to change tabs in the settings menu or open the key/button binds crashes the game. Other menus in the options menu, such as season, player ID or customisation, cause a temporary freeze of a few seconds, then return to normal function.
I did not use my XBox One frequently before this, so I cannot say for certain, but I do not remember this problem existing with previous seasons or builds. The menus did not lag or freeze and I managed to configure my controller settings without issue before.
Has anyone else experienced this? I could try redownloading the collection if that might resolve the issue, but it is a bit of a pain. I would like to confirm whether this is an issue only for my machine or a widespread problem before I take that step.
