Am I reading this right about these windows? We won’t be able to access the servers outside of those times? Yea it’s great if you live in the US but one of those windows is next to impossible for non US players. Not leaving a good impression making choices like this. It’s not that I am against the windows but I am against the times they should be done to accommodate the gamers round the world who want to test and give feedback. But for a lot of us the first window is work time and the 2nd window is 1am to 5am. Beyond ridiculous!
Just simply… move.

No, I just won’t play as I am unable to I literally get 1 hour 10 minutes on the first window which just isn’t feasible.
I know it’s not ideal for non-US based players, that’s been an issue since MCC had fighting. But if the purpose is to stress test the servers they do need to shepherd as many people into specific windows as possible, just sucks that some people are left on the outside looking in.

glad that i wont be doing this flight then and big 4head move from 343 lol. If they wanted to actually stress test it they need as much players as possible not hustling them in one time frame because it will limit the amount of players on the servers. This is just stupid imo.

Except it’s not? This isn’t something only 343 does, many developers have similar practices for betas.
Not to mention if you want to stress test servers it’s about getting as many players on at one time as possible, not getting a lot of players on for a long period of time.

well just saying this isnt going to represent the Euro, asian and aussie players. Its just not a good idea, but i dont wanna sound like a broken record or a crybaby about it. Either way its whatever u know. Enjoy the flight tho.

But doing it in such limited windows favoring one side of the Atlantic limits the total amount of players that will be able to get on at any one time. The second window will be extremely limited given its time. 343 is an American company that makes and sells a game in many countries around the world and it just seems every time it favors the American continent which leaves a sour taste in the rest of our mouths. On the last flight, they turned PVP on for 2 hours during a time when the rest of the world was asleep. And again with this flight so I am sure you can understand why we are complaining about this subject. Its a sad state of affairs when it happens like this.

Everyone has got to remember. This is a flight your invited to join if able, not an open beta. You are only entitled to play matchmaking during those times 343 sets for testing, nothing more.
Unfortunately this is the best method for getting maximum player numbers at any one time. If you open up too many windows, it’s basically like having matchmaking open all that time. What happens with that is you have a huge boom right at the start of the flight, and then it mellows out over the next few days to a steady medium. By having just a couple of windows each day, you’ll get that huge hit of concurrent sign-ins and matches all at once multiple times.
Maybe 343 could have stuck another couple of hours in for other times zones, but they’re likely anticipating to have plenty of issues cropping up, and want to monitor the data fully and be on hand to manage it. 343 staff all live in PT, so really it’s only feasible to do this kind of test at times that work for them.

Yes and it’s going to leave a sour taste if they are going to keep favouring just the US side. We do buy these games and some put money into it after. The game is global it shouldn’t just favour the US. A lot of us in the EU didn’t get the try arena pvp the first time and now on the 2nd flight it’s much the same.

To get maximum you need windows which encompass as much of the worlds population as you can. But these don’t they favour only the US.

Not really though. No one time encompasses most of the world, and time zones which work for Japan don’t work as well for the US, there’s always a trade-off. 10am PT on a weekend works well for most of the world, most people and they can’t account for everyone’s work schedules. If they want limited windows, someone is going to miss out because of work. That goes for people in the US as well as anywhere else. Like I mentioned, 343 want to have the windows during working hours in their local timezones, it only makes sense.

Yea but the EU is the 2nd biggest market for Microsoft and Halo you’d think they’d select a time which is good for us in the EU. This isn’t someone this is a lot of people that are going to miss out.
I get what you are saying but it just seems to keep happening I just wish for once they made a choice and included the rest of us in this.

10am PT is about 8pm at the latest in the EU, that’s really not that bad a time is it?

Oh don’t worry I totally understand where you’re coming from, it really does suck for EU or West Pasific folks who want to play. It’s the catch 22 of stress testing.
Really hoping that after this stress test flight they have a more open general flight for people to engage in.

For some the first window lands when a lot of are in work I said that above ^^. It leaves a small 2 hour window for a lot of us. It limits our options we aren’t all you tubers who do this for a living and can stay up all night and not have to worry about work the next morning. It’s not 343s problem but they could move it forward an hour or two and make it a perfect window.
It sucks, but 343i is a US based company and they have to work on their time to accomplish their goals. It sucks but we aren’t really entitled to much as it has to fit their criteria so they can do the work.
If it’s any consolation, the times aren’t exactly the best for everyone in the US as well. I’ll completely miss every evening/night flight times. And I won’t even get the full 4 hours during the day flight times. I’ll also be missing the entirety of both Friday flights (maybe get to squeeze in an hour if I’m lucky)
But tis the life of a broke college student with a job 🥲

But if you move the window others will be in work instead. It’s a weekend, most people that work over the weekend do shift work, and they could be doing any hours. Just a few months ago I was working a night shift from 9pm till 7am (BST) , including travel I’d have hardly been able to play the flight at all. Whenever the window is, some people are going to miss out. Its a shame, but the flights first and primary focus is to test the game, it’s not a beta. Moving the window wouldn’t allow more people to play, it would just exclude different people. In reality, most people in Europe won’t be working between 6 and 8pm, no more than will be working from 4-6pm or 8-10pm anyway.
