at one point there was 3 letters. Then there was 4. Would 5 letters be a good thing? What are some names you would use if you had 5 letters in infinite? I think 5 letters is good, not too long, and if we were able to shorten the tag to 1-5 letters that would also be cool to have the option.
I know it’s not a super important topic, but there’s probably some people out there who are like “damn man if only I could use 1 more letter.”

4 are absolutely fine… Like my Name is Moritz so I just put an “Mo” in my ID - or Bael cause it was some years my nickname

Have you seen how long some people’s GTs are dude? Surely you’re joking.
It’s the difference of being able to put Peter instead of pete. Benji instead of Benn. Think of it that way. One more letter might look like it’s way more, but only because you’ve gotten used to only seeing 4. I think 5 would be fine. A whole gamer tag though? Come on bro haha

my tag is Rage. Everyone I’ve become friends with calls me Rage. So 4 is fine. Only a few people have asked for my actual name, which is 5 letters. I wouldn’t mind using my actual name. Either is fine but I thought it would be a cool topic in case there are people who actually wished they had that 1 more letter. For sure I disliked when we only had 3 letters though. There wasn’t much creativity off of that lol.

It’s a sweet spot for sure. Just sucks to see everyone using the same words. You have no idea how many times someone has to change their tag in the party because 2 people end up having the same tag.
And yea lol. 4 letters fits a lot of the profanities.

Like I said I really don’t care about if they did do 5. My only point was that it’s meant to be a quick callout.
I don’t know what the max should be. I just want people to be able to choose and not be forced one way or another. With enough leniency I think we coule quickly see them become basically what is a “clan tag”.

Yea 4 is good for me. 3 is definitely not enough. If there was 5 I wouldn’t lose my head over it though. At least there will be more words/names to choose from. I only brought the topic up cause I remembered how annoying it was in the older halos, and then going from 3 to 4 letters, I began wondering if they’d try to add one more and if people would like the idea, not care, or act like it’s the end of the world.
You know. Just covering all bases of the typical halo fan in the community. There’s always 1 of each lol
I think not locking it to a set number would be really good though as others pointed out. For some, 3 is enough, or even less.
