I don’t know much about the profanity filter, and who (Bungie/343/Microsoft) has control of it, but I know a bad word when I see one. Is anything being done to update the filter from time to time?
Mind sharing what actually shouldn’t be aloud but is?
Type it in the Service Tag Way, I will guess it.

God, now that is a fail on Microsoft & Bungie’s part.
I say just report them for in-game content or something via File Complaint’s, they do actually get checked.
I wish they would block stuff like Noob, Halo, 117, 1337, and all that stuff.
I find it annoying that stuff like “FKYU” is allowed, but part of my gamertag “Glitch” is profane…

But I don’t think service tags like HALO, 117, etc. should be forbidden. I mean, that’s a tad silly.

My buddy’s name is Cody and whenever he tries to put it in as a service tag it says his name is to profane.

It keeps getting dumber and dumber. And I bet that CODY isn’t allowed because it has COD in it - the name of a “hostile” game.
Eric and other names aren’t allowed either but you can do several racial terms and about 80 different ways to make v-jay. How do I know this? I only see it every other game. I know they can’t block everything out but it can’t be that hard to go to most common and pick out the top 10 dirty words and then do that like once every month or so. It’s obvious people will start using the next dirty thing they can think of so it wouldn’t be that hard to do that at all…

I know this is way late but seriously guys? Children shouldn’t be playing it to begin with, it is rated M for a reason. You guys need to grow up and deal with it before playing games like Halo.

I’ve seen loads that I wish I had a way of reporting them 
The only one I can think of right now is “Fa Q”
I would rather see tags like “SWAG”, “YOLO”, “MLG”, etc… gone. I see teams who all have the same tag like that, it just looks so stupid. 
Ah well, the game is supposed to be for a mature audience, so I don’t see why anything should be blocked at all…
