Service tag issue

so for years my service tag in MCC was R34 but I changed it once for a stupid clan I joined for a day, and now I can’t change it back?
is there anyway 343 could fix this? there is nothing wrong with that service tag, so idk it’s being marked for “profanity”

While you may be trying to use it to reference a GTR, it also represents a rather questionable website/internet ‘rule’ so I can see why it’s flagged as inappropriate and not able to be used. Since you were able to use it in MCC’s earlier days, my guess is that the profanity filter is a constantly updating process.

well they should change it back, it’s stupid that it’s being limited because of crap like that. makes it come off like we aren’t allowed.

If you ask me, it’s just the way the game handles censorship. There was this one time when I tried to have “XIV” as my service tag, as a reference to Saint-14 from Destiny (best boi), but it wouldn’t accept it and tagged the text as “inappropriate”. I tried using other Roman numericals and they all worked fine. The game just had something against XIV for some reason. Following Season 8’s update, I’m suddenly able to use XIV.

Not just that, but even during games, when someone uses profanity in in-game text chat, the text is shown clear as day. But when I use the same word(s), it censors me. Even non-profane words are, at times, censored. Mind you, I have “Text Chat Filtering” set to disabled, but they’re filtered anyway.

Now, of course, having R34 as the service tag referencing an inappropriate internet rule ain’t exactly… well, appropriate, but if you’re suddenly unable to use it, I say it’s a case of the censorship being weird.
