Alright, so since I haven’t actually gotten an update, I have absolutely no idea if it is an actual Xbox Live update or if it just occurs when you go online, but I do not have the extra Spartan Ops Missions nor do I have any of the extra playlists. I cannot connect to the servers nor any “friends” I believe because I do not have this update. Is there a reason for this? Also, can someone please tell me if there was an actual update, as in, it came in and said, “this game has updates available etc. etc.”
I’ve reset my Xbox, connection, used a different Xbox Live account, and I’m on a public connection with people I know have already gotten the update because they’re playing just fine in War Games, so I’m incredibly confused as to what is going on, and it has been going on for about 2 hours.

Seriously, it’s been well over 5 hours now, I don’t understand why I cannot play a game I spent $60 on with a perfectly fine connection and the servers being up. WHAT IS GOING ON?

SAME HERE, there’s an update? What the hell is going on?
No one I know actually had to download an update, so therefore it’s not an actual XBox update for the game, but still, I don’t understand why the servers are down for me. I am hooked into my dorm’s internet and there are plenty of people here at my college playing perfectly fine. My connection is open and I can do anything on it with anything else, it’s ridiculous that I am unable to play a game I paid for because the game has no detection system for whatever this issue is.
It has to be an issue with something on our boxes then. I just deleted the spartan ops download on my Xbox hardrive, re-downloading it now (instead of installing it from the disc) I’ll post again with results.
I did that as well, it didn’t work, I’m updating Halo Waypoint and seeing what that does.

I have no clue, I’m getting near that point though, I don’t care about it except that it better count my daily challenges if this doesn’t get fixed, I’ve been doing every one, so this is frustrating. I downloaded the game originally with my gf’s disc, so I’m redownloading it completely from my own disc and seeing if maybe the difference there is causing a disruption in the game automatically updating.
The only other explanation I can come up with is that I was banned or something because I attempted to bypass the daily limit at one point, I didn’t stay with it, however, once I read that it was a bannable offense, so I never actually bypassed the limit, so that would be annoying. Either way, you think it would tell me or send me a message or ANYTHING so I don’t spend hours trying to fix the stupid thing, but whatever, we’ll see if this works, if not, I literally have no options but to wait or call support of some sorts.
I don’t even know who to call, xbox live support would be my guess.
Redownloaded spartan ops, and waypoint, nothing. Totally broken.
I reinstalled absolutely everything and I got nothing, I wasn’t going to get Black Ops 2 tonight but it’s looking like I might end up getting it after all.
On the phone with xbox live support, had my try clearing the system cache, a download updated when I rebooted the game, but nothing since then and still experiencing the same problem.
They’re looking into it and have me on hold. It’s not a wide spread problem, so who knows.
It’s widespread enough that there’s about 1k people experiencing it. I can see all the people playing on these crappy backup servers, but I guess no one but you or I care enough to say something. Let me know if you figure anything out, by the way, how do you clear your cache?
On the dashboard, go into system settings, storage, select your hard drive, push Y, clear cache. Hope you had better luck then I did.
They noted that it is something on their side, and more people are calling in. The expect it to resolve in <2 hours (when COD launches on the east coast ironically). I bet you we’ll be OK by then.
If not, I’ll have COD and not care anyway.
