Whilst there is still much going on with Halo 5 with yet another new update on the way, the priority right now should really be the servers, and theater mode.
The game is as laggy now for many people as it has ever been - it’s certainly worse for me now than ever before. Initially it seemed like just an EU thing but I see Americans with lag/server complaints now too, and it’s getting pretty frustrating.
The second thing is theater. I don’t know if it’s even something that can be fixed, but it’s truly awful, and, in many ways, it is crippling Halo’s progress. Gameplay from theater is just so horrible to watch that it makes producing content (eg Youtube) so much more difficult - and furthermore, I literally don’t even watch Pro League because of how bad it is - and I’m a fan of competitive Halo.
There are various other frustrating glitches and things to be fixed (God awful pre game UI, talking to people outside of parties, req packs not appearing immediately after the game in which you earn in, reqs not being available for about 5 minutes when you first log in…need I say more?) but surely these two things need to be the priority right now?
I agree, these are points to fix for 343… It’s sad when games that are nearly a decade old were replicating gameplay in Theater down to the exact pixel and frame, and 10 years later, Halo 5’s Theater mode is riddled with bugs…

Yup.
Halo 3’s theater was infinitely better than H5’s. It seems as though they’ve traded the ability to see everyones POV’s for…well…everything. Sure, you can see everyones POV’s now, but it looks like they’re missing all their shots and is horrible to watch, so what’s the point?

Totally agree… I mean H3’s Theater was the sole reason I was able to make my montages, back in the day. And they looked great…
Now we have the XboxDVR method which is great, very convenient, but you have to stop and take yourself out of the game momentarily to grab a 30 second clip, which may not even be enough to capture everything…
…because you can’t rely on Theater anymore lol. For every step forward, there’s another step back. Weak…
Yeah, over here in Australia, we cannot find Warzone games on balanced, we have to search expanded and find servers in other countries with horrible connection.

I mean, we can safely assume it’s because of the servers - which operate totally differently now. But is there really no way around it?? I don’t know enough about other games to know if there is anything to compare to. How do the CoD servers operate? Their spectator/theater equivalent seems to work just fine.

Yeah, it sucks when watching stuff like the HCS, not to mention ruining montage clips.

Yep, as I said I don’t even watch pro league because of it (when I would really like to), I only watch the LAN events.

I feel for you now bro, I used to be able to find games all the time in Warzone, and now recently for the past couple of weeks I can’t find any games in Warzone, can only find games in Arena Playlist.
I wish they would just be open and admit their is problems with matching and servers because I know there is loads of people playing Warzone, I just can’t be put in any games.

Agree with all these points. The servers are A LOT worse than what they have been like, and since launch it just gets worse.
The quality of the connection in my games is getting very bad. I get like 1 in 5 games where the connection is awful and its starting to get very annoying. I would like to see 343 come out and accept that its happening or get some sort of response before some of the playbase leaves.
The other point about the theater being bad is another reason why the pro league doesnt get a lot of view. It makes viewing so lack luster due to the fact it being so hard to even understand how some people die. This needs sorting before people can take the PL seriously.
I agree also. As this game gets more and more updates the game is becoming bloated like a stuff pig! And the servers are definitely having a very hard time dealing with it more and more. What I find strange is that this should be there top priority… Everything in this game relies on the dedicated servers. Right now the servers act like there about ready to go on strike!! lol. Another strange thing ive noticed is that the game doesn’t sync players up very well in a game. If im in MN and I get matched to someone in FL. one of us is going to get the short end of the stick when it come to server performance. There is no compensation to deal with this. So really it all comes more down to who is the luckiest. Skill doesn’t play apart in it at all. So this is a very unfair game just in that sense. Again this whole game revolves around the dedicated servers and there seems to be no progress by 343i to try and clean up there act.

Is the Halo population that low there or is it just poor server locations? I would think you guys have a decent population of Halo players there but I could be wrong…
