My friends and I are getting that “cannot be added to party queue” error message very frequently lately. We’ll be playing fine for a couple hours then all of a sudden the “Halo 4 servers are unavailable” and when it comes back, we can’t join each other. Sometimes one of us is able to join someone, then after a moment or two are booted right back to the menu, unable to join again. This would be understandable every once in awhile, but it has been about 4 sessions over the last couple months since we haven’t encountered this trouble at some point. What gives?
I should point out that restarting my Xbox and resetting my router fix it sometimes, but it has inevitably come back every time.
Sounds to me like a connection and NAT settings issue. If one of you doesn’t have a compatible NAT setting to the other person, this can restrict you joining other people. I used to have this issue before I changed my intenet provider.
Check if either of you have an “open NAT”. If you do, then its a different issue with intenet connection. If either of you have “Moderate” or “Strict” NAT, then thats the problem, since like I said they can restrict you from joining others.
