Hey guys,
Can someone tell me if the server selection system looks for a server nearest the party leader or not? E.g. I am from the UK and play with a lot of American friends. If I am party leader will we pick up EU servers if I am searching with these friends and I am party leader?

I really doubt it
Sometimes it will tell you that it cannot find a server at all for your fireteam! I (USA) tried to play with a friend in Australia and it simply refused to allow us to play together.
Short answer: I think that matchmaking tries minimize lag by finding the lowest average latency server between all players involved. Beyond a certain threshold, it simply won’t allow you to play.
