Has there been ANY mention even in passing from the devs about a region server option? I feel like there are so many mentions online here, reddit etc that surely they can’t keep ignoring the fact that most players are getting shafted with 200ms+ ping.

it won’t change. they need player engagement metrics to be high so they can show shareholders the game is a success. it’s not about the players. it’s about money.

Some people are having to resort to doing things like modifying files to prevent the game from joining games with bad ms. I do hope the feature to select a region from the multiplayer menu is added in the future! As a south america player, playing ranked with 150ms average is very unfullfilling

After enduring the very same issues in Halo5, I decided to safe guard myself against this issue and purchase a router capable of Geo Filtering. I didn’t expect Halo Infinite to be delayed by a year so it got good use playing COD MW and Warzone, and now I don’t have this issue in Halo Infinite. For the record, it’s not cheating…it’s protecting myself and minimising disadvantages (just the same as purchasing a decent headset, controller with paddles, low latency 120fps monitor and XSX).
This is so annoying and is killing my fun with this game. At APEX I have normally a ping of about 21 - 30 ms. Here it is between 25 - 170 ms. This is bad and very frustrating.

This has now become a real problem for me.
It seems like most of my solo ranked games are now placed in US servers and I am based in Europe.
Having 100 extra ping really sucks the fun out of ranked modes.
If the argument is that cross region matchmaking makes finding matches easier, I would counter that by saying cross region matchmaking is actively making people to stop playing this game. I suspect that many complaints about hit registration mainly originate from people who have been forced to play in different region.

Please add a region selection. I can’t play like this, especially in ranked. It is such a pain to be killed while standing 10m behind a wall.
