There was a huge thread on this exact topic with H5, so it’s nothing new.
I ditched Halo for a long time because of this, eventually returned to MCC a few months ago & was pleasantly surprised to see server selection had been implemented - fully expected to see it in infinite.
Incredibly disappointed it isn’t - as I’ve said earlier, the lack of acknowledgement is insulting. 343 prioritises NA player-base, perhaps understandable - but will only kill the game in the rest of the world.

I feel like this has got significantly worse since the update now that players are spread thin over multiple playlists. Before the update most games I played were 15ms pings and now I can’t seem to get on a local server at all (I’m in Australia). Please 343, give us a connection preference option like you have in 5 or MCC, I would rather wait a bit longer to get into a game than put up with 200ms pings.

Just made a post about this. Absolutely ridiculous that it hasn’t been implemented yet.
It wasn’t added at launch and now it’s even worse since they tightened SBMM last update I haven’t been able to find a single match under 200ms.
Me and my mates will be switching back to other games, where the devs actually care about their player base beyond NA.

Completely agree. However, I think that region/performace selection is probably considered by the devs as a overall negative on population (and population decrease = less shop don’t cha know). The pop decrease was pretty much the reason why I only play fiesta in H5, at least I don’t rage as much on hit reg in that game.
Not sure what that post meant, but giving gamers more freedom in how they want to play is always a good thing in my opinion.
Game I was in today had a US bloke, Brittish bloke and myself an Australian all in same team going why is hit reg and lag so bad. My ping was 40ms and US bloke was 140ms so weird how it works.

Yep. Playing a third of my ranked games on 150+ ping is no fun, and is the quickest way for me to close Halo and do something else. And I’m in NA…
I’m just going to start afk’ing if I get put on a foreign server. It isn’t worth the hit to my sanity to play those games. Use that time to stand up and stretch or something I guess.
Yeah, players can’t be blamed for leaving or going AFK when the ping is that high. We play Halo for fun and that kind of lag is just infuriating and not enjoyable at all…343 fix your game pls

The Worst part is that, before the Launch, i was getting matches with 10 ping, after the campaign Launch, the game automatically sends me to NA servers.

Another Aussie here. Please For the love of god let this feature be one of the top features to be added. 200ping servers with the already poor hit reg is killing me atm and any enjoyment of ranked play.

343 give the community region select/preference!
EVERYONE wants it! Even US based players!
You want to protect your revenue stream then this will go a long way to doing that!
Otherwise Infinite will go the same way H5 did when it went to preferring US servers etc! The outside world stopped playing that virtually overnight! (I’m UK)

Agreed 100% needs to be a region/server selector ASAP. As poor hit reg yep accept tgat but yes as above has said the ping on top makes ot that much worse. Be some lathe numbers leave I imagine outside of US if no region select.

I get it, americans are bad at this game.
But is that good reason enough for me to get 200ms+ games as a european player?

It’s dead already havnt had a Oce server in the past 20 odd games 160-250 min
Yeah and us players telling you to lift your game with 200+ ping and I’m basically scoring the same as them ffs give me atleast 80ping so I can play. Nades , bunts and snipes no fucng chance there should be a fucng medal for nades mine seem to do no damage what so ever. 1 shot Spartans just tap Dance all over them to no effect games fucd already
