It’s getting ridiculous, I’m in Sydney Australia getting like 144MS to 210MS is downright getting unplayable
Works,
Thanks for posting.
Just try the host file workaround for server preference(for now). It works
How they can think that that is acceptable or that people would willingly choose to play like that is incredible
I didn’t want to bump this, but has there been any comment on this from 343? Or is it the middle finger to everyone outside of NA, because matchmaking speed trump all?
So the have anounced neew playlists. But any word onn this?
Nothing at all. Grim
Please, I can’t even play fairly cause I’m a half second behind my opponents. They already seeing & shooting me but on my screen it looks like I’m shooting them first…its insane the footage I have
I would really like to play a few multiplayer matches. The connection is so bad since a few days, it is not possible to have a fair game with a ping between 120 and 200.
I really hope something will change soon. The critics may say the game is great. To be fair the gameplay is indeed pretty good, but not the server issues on console. Really sad to see people leaving the game left and right since the launch. But it is understandable.
Definitely this!
They need to provide locale selection, the server lag/de sync ASAP!
Close to giving up on the game!
I just tried on the MCC with selected servers.
North and West Europe (but still ~120 ping). And wow, was that a pleasure. Very smooth.
has there been any official response from 343 regarding why there isn’t server selection?
Guys keep bumping this thread and don’t let it die until 343 says something, we need server selection like in the MCC
Bump! We absolutely need to select the servers we want to play on.
Article on the web about Royal 2 manipulating server selection in HCS - search on google to read.
Interesting comment from HCS “no organic server selection, player can’t influence this” - the best server is selected based on
connected players.
So, with a player base majority in the US, a declining population (rest of world), 7 US servers - it really doesn’t look good for us.
Honestly don’t know why they don’t have server selection, major issue H5 - step forward with MCC (eventually)
Ping getting worse now the population is declining, i’d even settle in having some an indication of what server is hosting - then at least we would know.
Shocking by 343.
this really does need sorting or the player population outside the US will fall off a cliff like it did with Halo5!
Bump! This is driving me insane now. The game just feels unfair as probably 75% of my games have so much latency that the enemies always get a shot or two in before mine even register.
Please give us the option to choose region…
Keep this alive. No acknowledgement yet.
This honestly is an issue, as its one thats incredibly observable and can documented pretty easily.
These are some games and pings I started recording last night. All numbers are rounded up to either 0 or 5. If there is a single number, it’s because the ping didn’t vary enough to warrant a range, however a range of numbers shows the highest latency I observed and the lowest latency as well. Numbers are in “ms”.
The ranged variables surprise me the most, it feels as though it’s a peer to peer connection.

Does anyone know a different method of plotting connections? I used to use Ping Plotter with Overwatch, but I’m not sure there’s a system in place to use with Halo.
How can they not even comment?
What is the point of even having a social media manager … when something as huge as most of the world cant enjoy your game but can fix it with a dns hack … and nobody from 343 will even comment.
Pathetic
They banned someone for using it … and still cant be bothered to tell us if it will even ever get fixed.
What a big FU to the community and their world championship. We have raised this from the beta and still no comment … sigh
