Server Region Selection

Hello.
Please allow us to choose what servers we would like to play on and which ones we’d like to block.

I’m from Australia and half of my games I am matched on a US or SEA server.

This is bad for everyone involved as I’m always going to quit the moment I get a region with 200 ping.
People from these regions don’t want quitters in their games and I don’t want to be in them.

Many players will downright stop playing rather than go through the effort or searching multiple times to get their own region.

I am un Europe, and this needs to happen for the full launch in December.

The community outside of the US will disappear fast if they don’t

Agree 100%

We’ve suffered in the past, lets hope it’s implemented asap

Region selection is mandatory. The playerbase in australia will die if we continue to be forced into 250ms+ matches. There is enough players, but we cannot select region. Why? This is needed ASAP.

This happened with H5…I’m sure they will implement for full launch.

They wouldn’t kill the player base again over such a small feature that they know is essential…

…would they??

Yes, I should able to limit my matchmaking to Europe.

The fact that Halo 5 made me play in the US servers across the ocean was the biggest contributing factor on me quitting Halo 5 quickly after launch.

I returned to Halo 5 briefly this year to check it out again, and even when using the focused matchmaking option, I still have to play on the US servers. This happened very frequently.

I hope Infinite will do more than Halo 5 did in that regard.

From Australia also and how long have we been asking for this???

Agreed. This needs to happen, fast.

Yes - disappointed that there isn’t a server selection.

Major issue with Halo 5.

I wont play beyond beta unless introduced

I agree 100%, we need to be able to choose our servers, i don’t want to play on a high ping server at all.

Cannot agree more! Being an Aussie too it’s a nightmare when I get matched into US games.

As a US player, YES. Let people pick their servers. You will lose far more people from bad connections than reducing the number of playlists.

You don’t need a region lock. You take what gets shoved in your face with a smile.

Sbmm. There’s your culprit.

I’ve found as soon as it hits midnight uk time, I get switched over to NA servers.

We’ve been through this before, with both Halo 5 AND Halo:MCC. Why, when this was an issue in both of the previous two games, has this game then been designed without any sort of server selection?

I just played a Ranked game with 175ms ping. It makes the game feel terrible to play. Terrible enough that I turned the game off and came here to see if anyone else was having the same experience.

I hope so. They dragged their feet implementing it into Halo 5 saying that “it would increase waiting times”. They watched the community outside of the US dry up, they then implemented it and waiting times went up. Then they were like “we told you so”

The cynic in me thinks that they dragged their feet on purpose.

I think that they are about to do it all over again. I would not put anything past 343 who like bungie before them believe that they know more than everyone else

This issue is seriously a big cause for all the aiming irregularities.
It’s night and day playing on training mode or in matchmaking. Spent an hour in training setting up my aim and controls until it was butter smooth only to end up in US-W servers where it feels like I’m always two shots behind and my aim is all over the place.

Even in ranked there is no way to focus the search and it feels really bad having that disadvantage there. Guess I’m staying away from there until launch.
