Server Lag or Not

My download speed looking at through console setting -->(network) is 27.7Mbps download and 2.4 upload. I was wondering if the problem was my IP

Where do u live? If u live close to the servers u got a chance

Ping/ms is a factor of distans to server, router jumps and QQS. You can contact your Isp and run a tracer on your computer to see where you are getting high ping. Check your router and so on.

Sweden has The best up/down per capita. All have 100/100 fiber. Dosent matter, Its to far away from the servers. Some of your problem can be from your Isp but mostly Its the distans from you-servers. Live close to a server with decent internet=low Ms/ping, live far away=high ms/ping.

My internet connection improve going from fiber to broadband.

Fiber has bigger download but is more unstable and my disconnects are 1/100 on broadband

Are you running a router and modem in 1, or is your ISP’s modem bridged and you are running an optimized gaming-level router?

Is your Xbox set to DMZ, port forwarded or given traffic priority?
(XBL is set to priority with my router, my XB1-S is in a DMZ, I run a Linksys WRT1900AC, but just got last month).

Do you have Smartglass on your home network that you use to remote access your XB1? If so, run a network test, found within the Smartglass options. This will tell you the important packet loss and processor lag you are actually receiving, and not the ping to the server, which you add to your known,

ie, I have an 88ms latency and 1% packet loss through the bridged modem+my router, and a 33ms ping to Titanfall2’s nearest servers. That means, I have 121ms/7frames of gaming accuracy latency, and any issues with packets is not my side.

Thank You very much for the replies. I am in North America (Texas). Internet is Cable -->Modem → then router. My router is a Netgear Nighthawk R7000. All I could do to DMZ is turn-on. I set priorities to highest for Xbox. I finished a couple of games in Warzone Firefight, I did not notice any lag. Thanks Again

I got Smartglass to work on my iPhone. I am still trying to figure it out. Thanks again.

Alrighty, you sound mostly good to go.

First, go to your XB1 network settings, copy what you see the auto-mode selected, and then turn on manual settings.

Now you can either set up Port Fowarding or the DMZ. The DMZ is quickest by putting your XB1’s address in it.

Thanks Again, I took Cisco Networking almost 10 years ago. I have a better than average understanding. 10 year is long time in tech. time. I hope this does not seem like a dumb question. I found Default DMZ server on WAN Setup page I entered the IP address from Xbox one. I also setup Xbox manually.
On that same WAN page is:

  • Disable Port Scan and DoS Protection - Default DMZ Server <- I entered Xbox IP address - Respond to Ping on Internet Port - Disable IGMP Proxying - MTU Size(in bytes) it is now 1500<- default - NAT Filtering options: Secured and Open: Secured is on - Disable SIP ALG

Opps I was wondering if I needed to do anything else on WAN page setup.

I just finished Port Forward. The link made it easy
Thank You Very Much
