Server closer to South Africa, please? Awful.

I’m getting 185ms to EU (Which is bad, is the server in Germany? Move it to the UK!) and 250ms to US (Checked in Infinite flight), I understand you guys at 343 wished places like Africa didn’t exist, but we do, and we have Xbox consoles, we also have Azure. Can you not spin up a server in the UK, which is where many of our undersea cables terminate, or better yet, one in Johannesburg or Cape Town?

Guys if you don’t support Halo here, then nobody is going to play it here. At least trial a small server and see how it goes. Would it kill your network planners? Would they spontaneously combust if you raised a request?

You should also include the option to select datacenters like MCC has.

Warzone/Activision games, Valve games, EA/DICE games all have servers here, what’s your malfunction, man?

Not going to spend a cent on games who don’t support us, and will recommend anyone from ZA do the same.

In before not enough players, there are plenty players here, and word travels quickly, there’s just nobody here who’s going to lick your -Yoink- if you repeatedly release Halo without any local server support.

So before you start rambling about low engagement in the Sub Saharan Africa region, ask yourself, WHY.

As a fellow South African here who played with 3 other locals during the Infinite Flights. We pulled local servers quite a few times (5ms Ping) and played against other South Africans in these matches.
Looks very likely that we will see local servers in Infinite.

Just a note for any locals that do jump in here, I run Halo South Africa. A local Halo community, we have a Discord server and twitter account at @Halo_ZA.
If you guys want to join us and stay up to date with local tournaments and news etc please reach out to me.

Read above(copy and paste the link into a tab)…I hope this gives you slight hope ,there’s a big chance that there will Local ZA Servers. I also got into local ZA servers during some pvp matches in the flighting just like NickmeistR.I got 40-60ping.

That would be very cool, Halo will never take off here if they don’t provide servers. I’ll see you when Infinite launches!

I was just about to say, I saw a thread the other day about you all pulling a local server. It all just depends on what the makeup of the match is, if majority of players in the game are US/EU/AU/SA or what have you, then I believe it selects the server that’s most optimal for the majority. But I honestly have no idea how it works.

I unofficially found out that we do in fact have local servers! So this is gonna be amazing.
I got 5ms while connecting to these servers during the flight so I’m excited haha. But no official statement from 343 about the servers but some people pointed out to me that it’s listed in the API/game data so hopefully it’ll still be available at launch (should be though).
