Seriously, what the hell?

Lemmy give you all a rundown of how my games go so far.

I get the sniper rifle, I headshot someone, shields drop. I headshot again and get a kill. THEN someone headshots me and I die, from full shields. What the hell?

I learn of the Mantis or whatever the mech is. I learn it can soak up quite a bit of punishment. So I use it. ONE rocket hits me from half shields in a freshly-spawned Mantis. I blow up. What the hell?

I am shooting someone with the DMR at close range. They have the sniper rifle and are strafing while trying to get a shot. I run up and melee them after 3 DMR rounds hit. They then one-shot me with the sniper rifle, from FULL SHIELDS. What. The. HELL!?

Dude is shooting at me with the assault rifle. A teammate goes into an assassination animation on him, so I start to reload…and suddenly drop dead, to the person being assassinated. Yes, he shot me while being bent over backwards and having his spine snapped. WHAT. THE. HELL!?

Or the SWAT game where one person has 2 other people for 3-man split screen. All three were ‘somehow’ so good, that my team barely got 5 kills. The main username was something like 30-3 or some crap, and watching him play, his accuracy was around 98%. Bull.

Because of course nobody can be a better player than you!

I get my butt kicked all the time. I just refused to believe anyone is that unstoppable. There is such a thing as ‘too good to be true’.

Yeah, no local only search option.

Lag is the main cause. As an answer to your first point with the sniper rifle headshot thing, it’s either lag or you didn’t aim too well. The Sniper Rifle is ALWAYS a 1SK in the head.

Your second point: Same thing as above.

Your third point on the assassination “hack”: Lag delays your death sometimes. Even if a person shot you, you’ll die 3 or 4 seconds later.

Believe me, I have one of the worst connections in the world, so I would know.

Also if you shoot someone and his shields don’t drain, that’s also lag. God I hate it when that happens…

Snipers kill in one shot, you must not have hit him in the head. I have a feeling you hit his arm or shoulder, and then you got shot in the head.

Vehicles in this game are paper. Not as paper as reach, but paper.

He killed you while you melee’d. Not that hard to believe. I do it all the time when people rush me and I have a sniper.

AR is hitscan, and there is lag. On his screen, there would have been a delay for the assassination taking place. Not really that big a deal, dude (or dudet).

Do you know how easy it is to play swat in this game? The amount of aim assist and magnetism is hilarious.

It’s not surprising that that happened, honestly. Not only were they working as a team, but as you said, the main leader was a really good player. So it’s not unusual for that to happen.

I’ve played team doubles matches where the enemies get no more than 5 kills. I’ve played swat matches where my team never broke ten. It just means they were vastly superior enemies, and why we need a ranking system so crap like that doesn’t happen as often.

Yeah Halo 4 lags a lot. And when it doesn’t, you disconnect anyway.

cool story

Damage boost can also be at play here - reduces the amount of shots needed for a kill

Back out- it’s lag and unfortunately happens often. My own personal favorite was yesterday. I picked up a beam rifle from someone who died and as soon as I grabbed it it went into the overheating script and since was stuck I got killed.

Yesterday I was playing very lag free and had some consistently fun games.

However, then I played a game of CTF on Settler. It didn’t feel like I was lagging at all; however, there were times when I would unload a full clip of the AR into one guy and he would never die. The most damage I would do would be to drop his shields. It was like his shields were dropping as I was shooting, then halfway through my clip, his shields would stop dropping. At the end of my clip, his shields would start to be affected again and they would disappear. Too bad I was reloading now and he would kill me every time. I had to even melee him with the flag twice sometimes to kill him.

Very frustrating.

There will always be people better than you.
And sometimes it’s just terrible luck playing with 7 Australians.

Sounds like OP is basing a lot of this on watching kill cams or theater which everyone knows is not a good representation of what happened.

And LAG.
