We need to be heard, now before I begin Halo 5 has had some great content in the forms of movement options, forge, the return of the H2BR, grav hammer, and the idea of warzone. But I believe the reason fans are clamoring so much for a Falcon,(hell I would have taken one reach themed map!) is because so much of the free content we have gotten thus far has been lackluster or req bait and the overall treatment of Halo 5 has been less than stellar.
Many of the arena maps we have gotten have been remixes of existing maps, big team battle has been reduced to a forge playlist, the updates are mostly attempts by 343 to fill in missing gamemodes and force useless reqs down our throats. Now some people on the forum say we should be thankful that we are getting post game medals and infection in the game, yet these are expected standards of a Halo game. Im sorry but these things needed to he in the game from launch. We continually accept a very mediocre and incomplete experience and feed into the greed of a game studio that thinks it can win over its fans while failing to adhere to the Halo standard.
So excuse me if I want to complain about not getting the Falcon, I think there is nothing whiny or entitled about it. The biggest reason that justifies the complaints of the Falcon on the forums is that fans would just like to see 343 go the extra mile once in a while after some harsh letdowns made to the community (rotational playlists, lack of gamemodes, false advertising for number of warzone maps at launch, false advertising for intelligent squad A.I., and leaving out the single most requested addition from the forums: playable elites. I wont go into how half the content for the Reach update isnt even from Reach as other posters have done a brilliant job of expressing just that. I’m not here to attack 343 but merely point out why we are left with a poor taste in our mouth for this new update.
P.S. Jorges turret will more than likely be a reskinned machine gun turret, not too exciting.

The reason for people being disappointed is due to the fact that many are creating expecations based on the best possible outcome. People need to stop assuming the best possible outcome is the most plausible to prevent being disappointed by their unrealistic expectations. The Falcon was simply not a plausible outcome, as it was the best possible scenario. Ever heard of “too good to be true?” That quote does indeed have some merit to it.

Even 343 wouldn’t dare to charge us for these updates, because they offer so little content and most of them are cosmetic.

These things take time. Would it have been nice to have a Reach map? Yes. Would it have been nice to have a falcon? Also yes. Did we get all of the gravity hammer reqs in Hammer Storm? No. We got them later. They said they were going to stop the remixes, but you have to think about dev time. That map was probably in the making for a while now.

Well then its a hell of a lot cheaper than pretty much every other game DLC wise. At least they’re adding the content in for free and not doing and EA/ Destiny and making us pay for it.
OP- You’re not entitled for wanting a falcon, but you are for demanding it and placing unnecessary demands in for these free updates. Yes they called it memories of reach, and that’s because they dropped 4 armour sets from reach, it seems logical for them to name it after a large portion of the update not the whole update, this has been the case with all of them.
If they said before hand they where adding lots of content from reach and only added the armours, yes you had a right to be pissed, but literally all they did was name it thus and add the armours. They never promised anything.
You people need to learn not to over hype things.
Anyways, its convenient all you haters are forgetting they’re adding Warzone Firefight, something that was obviously created due to demand.

The problem with the “free content” they are giving us is stuff that is part of what the op means by “The Halo Standard”.
Halo 5 was lackluster from launch.
A lot of people who loved Halo’s social aspect (myself included) were disappointed so much was missing from what was teased as a defining game in the franchise.
They went backwards.
They focused too much on esports and competitive play that it cost them a lot of players.
I know a lot of players from my Halo 3, Reach, and 4 days that were severely disappointed with 5 not having a true fun factor. Like 4 and back had.
When you make a game that already has a “standard”, you always look to improve.
Never take away, unless it has zero benefit to the overall health of the game.
Infection, Grifball, Race, (fully unranked, not hidden) Social playlists, community involvement, and a lot more should’ve been a big part of Halo 5.
I give them that they wanted Forge to be great. I love Forge. Best it’s ever been.
But these “updates” are remixes and cut content, and a bunch of nearly useless cosmetics. 6 shades of green visors? Why?
I would’ve been fine had they just pushed Halo 5 back a full year and had most, if not all, of this stuff at launch, and then making NEW content to add into the game.
Halo 5 is more of a shell than Destiny was in its first year. And that’s saying something.

They should have called it, Noble team, or just something along those lines, as we got the noble team armour, but really nothing else

Why did they not put the Falcon in? The game was in development from Summer 2012, 3 and a half years ago. This update has been at most in the works for a year, least February. How long does it take to code a Falcon? Why was this update delayed too? They even have the cheek to miss the deadline of Wednesday, like every update drops.
A Reach themed update should include Reach themed content, as far as I can tell the only Reach content we are getting are.

One update was called hammer storm, why wasn’t it only hammers, and storm rifles?

The update is “memories” of reach, which comes in the Infection game mode (which is the updates main selling point) the armours and skins.Also, no we didnt need a spire remake for Warzone (which would be horrible unbalanced with the spire base) I’m tired of remakes from old games.
