So recently, I’ve been learning about all things Blizzard. Blizzard Entertainment has a long notorious history of having insanely long production period. Everyone knows this. The Halo series, however, has never really had unnecessarily long waiting times. As of late, I’ve been learning all I can about Diablo 3 and the Diablo Series. The thing that gets me, is that this game, Diablo 3, has been in production forever, like at least 7 years, granted you can’t have a series that big without any press or explanation as to what’s up with the game, but I know WAY more about Diablo 3 than Halo 4. Which is VERY weird, Bungie was a MASTERMIND at leaking little tidbits of perfectly bite sized information about a game starting about a year or so (sometimes two) out from release. 343 has WEEKLY information updates concerning their elements in the Halo Universe… yet I don’t know -Yoink- about Halo 4. Why? It’s starting to make me nervous that I haven’t heard anything yet about Halo 4. We don’t know anything about core elements. Gameplay, vehicles, weapons, major players… wtf? Of course we shouldn’t be hearing about the story, but we don’t even know officially what the game will LOOK like? How has there not been some Game Informer exclusive cover story, or some ULTRA early preview from EGM, OXM, or hell even GTtv on Spike? Where is the hype? I’m SURE 343 will pull out some big guns (pun intended) at E3 this year, but with all that is expected to be there this year, I think they need to start sooner… like now. Here’s to hoping. Halo 4 will be out at the end of this year, if I’m wrong you can have my earlobes, fresh. I can’t say the same for the other two games with such confidence.

Halo 4 is a game still, remember. Gamers would like to see the game and not just hear about it, and it’s especially nerve-racking when we’ve got the giant red flag of one of the creative directors quitting saying he wasn’t into it. With that in mind, forgive us for being worried.
Couple of things;
Make a thread title a little more relevant to the subject you’re wanting to discuss and break up your posts into easy to read paragraphs. Will help promote people to feel more motivated to hear what you’ve got to say.
Also, we’re all starving for Halo 4 news, but this is a whole new launch process we aren’t familiar with and you can’t compare it to methods Bungie used in the past. Whether we believe we should know about certain parts of the game by now is merely subjective and you can bet they have a huge marketing campaign to back this game (Frankie even said they did at Neogaf). Frankie also said we’d get news (to what degree, I don’t know) about Halo 4 before E3 at Neogaf. They have a schedule, full of deadlines and embargoes and you know they’ve got deals in place with magazines/other media outlets to drop bombs on us between now and “the holidays 2012.”
We’ve been poking these guys for info for months and there’s been tons of threads like this discussing how unhappy we are that we haven’t been given more. It won’t change anything and they won’t budge until their able to. Let’s hope something is shown at the MS Spring Showcase next week and/or GDC the following week.

Only number 1 has not been confirmed. All of the others have been confirmed by either 343, Glasslands or Primordium.

This is how I feel. I don’t KNOW any of that, because Frankie and all them are so vague and ambiguous about details.

The only thing that holds me over is that i know i’m behind on my books right now… but like I said, that doesn’t tell me what’s going to be in Halo 4.
I kind of agree. While they do release some info every now and again, the stream of intel isn’t even a trickle, it’s a “drip…drip…drip…” and it’s kind of frustrating we don’t know just a little more seeing as the game comes out in less than a year. For Reach, by this time two years ago we had screen shots and audio, and in march we got a full-on 2 minute multiplayer trailer. If they just release a handfull of screenshots showing us at least what the game engine looks like it should shut people up for a while.

yes there will still be flood locked inside some forerunner research instillations and on the halo rings. but the threat of the flood is gone for now.
