Seriously. Props to the Community Team at 343

I just wanted to thank the people at 343 for making changes to matchmaking based on community complaints and suggestions.

I posted a thread a couple days ago complaining about breakout in team arena and there not being radar (Here’s the link:https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/58b8518e005f432381ab99fbcaf931e0/topics/halo-5-breakout-no-radar/cdd8b548-6591-4783-919b-6d12388086ed/posts?page=1#post13) and then by the next day they had already removed breakout from the playlist as announced per this tweet (https://twitter.com/quinndelhoyo/status/695369431573082112).

I probably didn’t have any influence on it, but still It’s awesome to know that they are responding to the wishes of the collective halo community.

Thanks 343

You know why they removed breakout? A certain 343 employee lied or skewed the facts about Breakout being a popular playlist on the forums of Team Beyond. They mentioned that the players on the top pro teams were polled, and that the majority were not in favor of removing breakout. And what do you know? A little later, Snakebite, a pro from the team in second place mentioned that no such poll was ever conducted.

Hilarity in the thread ensued and many lols were had. A member decided to hold a real poll, and 40 pros competing in the HCS were anonymously polled. 90% voted in favor for the removal of Breakout!

The community team at 343 is awful, they have little to no communication with the fans and the main halo website is where they talk least

So…343 lied.

I’m so shocked.

Reminds me of a certain Sprint poll a long while back with a 90% in favor for sprint. Hmm… cough bull -Yoink- cough

I think I saw the thread. A dude named Salient lied about the poll right.

Yes. Sal1ent is Josh Holmes, a 343 employee in the multiplayer development team.

man it saddens me that the don’t have a feedback program like Microsoft has implemented with the insiders, and then they could take real data and use it to make the game better, but I guess no-one at 343 reads the forums

They do though - check the feedback link at the top of the page. Sign yourself up and they send you surveys every so often about different aspects of the game. Had this available since the Halo 5 beta, last survey was just about a week or so ago

Listen I do have many problems but they do try thier best, but other times Jesus get off the couch 343

Would you really blame them for avoiding Waypoint though? Next to nothing people post on here is constructive feedback. Just hate. Hate. Spam. And more hate. Also crying. And hate. Did I miss anything?

Websites like Reddit, BeyondEntertainment, NeoGaf, and Twitter are different. Sure there will be some toxic threads but they aren’t everywhere like they are here.

The Halo Community Feedback Program and it’s many polls talking about Halo 5 from the late beta days to present would like a word with you.

Just like their sprint poll…which was very skewed as well. It seems they are very good with these tactics.

???

I’ve been signed up for months (ever since they lifted the participation restrictions that they had in place at the beginning) but I have yet to receive a single survey…

And then we did the same thing here. A community member put up a poll and after all the voting was said and done, 60% was in favor of sprint, a solid 15 opposed, and a solid 25 didn’t care. And that’s just here, the Halo forum with the most anti-sprint/343 around.

Good ole’ Snakebit. That’s really funny, owned.

Well, had they communicated with the community, on the OFFICIAL HALO FORUMS might I add, with all of the changes and such that would happen to Halo, perhaps there would be less “hate”. The way I see it, if you are absent from your official forums and posting changes without talking to the community about it, you deserve whatever you get from it, whether it be praise or criticism.

And maybe you see hate, but I see a lot of constructive criticisms on these forums. To each their own.

It would be nice if they would actually bother with important sections of their own forums though, like the support section for example. People have legitimate problems with the game and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a single reply at all trying to resolve issues people are having or reassuring them that they’re working on whatever fix people are making threads about. There is almost zero interaction between developer and consumer and it seems like they’re just kicking back and relaxing whilst people suffer game breaking bugs and glitches and are unable to play the game they bought.

Personally for me (and many others) the server changes in the feb season have drastically effected matchmaking as a whole. Whereas before I could find matches in any playlist and very quickly I am unable to find matches at all in about half of the playlists (BTB for example) unless I party up with players from a more stable region like America. Searching times for games is also incredibly appalling and when I do find matches the lag is more common then it was previously despite these “improvements”.

Just a simple comment from them acknowledging certain issues would be enough to know they care. It’s easy to ignore the “hate spouting threads” and focus on the ones that need attention.
