What’s the thought process behind adding just race? It feels like it’s a bit of a middle finger from 343 saying “sure, we’ll give you a mongoose race gametype, but only the one we want to give you, not the one you’ve been literally begging about for like a year”.
Why on earth would you not include rocket race or splaser race…??
Can’t you adjust the custom gametype options to make them yourself?
Well, then it wouldn’t be in matchmaking then…
Perhaps the team has tested rockets etc wiith bad luck.

I hate posts that get replied with “make it yourself in custom games”. for those of us that dont play halo 24/7 and have avoided it coz of ragnarok being played every match, dont have friends that play halo now, so the option to play custom games is pointless. this race gametype shouldav deffo had rockets.

Rocket Race is coming, just be patient. Maybe if things go well enough it’ll become permanent (not likely, but I can dream).
Rocket race will be available in 2 weeks for 2 weeks. The thing that really drives me nuts about this new race gametype is the fact that it doesnt count towards king of the hill victories. Ive been waiting for a couple months now for race to come out with hopes of finally getting some of the KOTH victories finished, seeing as its the only gametype I am not in the mastery of victories on. Idk why it doesnt count…essentially its a ffa multihill gametype( thats how it was made originally).
This is so stupid! A whole month of wasted game time lies ahead of us…If the mongoose flips u loose the race, and they think adding rockets to racing will be fun? Rocket Hog is a ton of fun to “RACE” for the hills while exploding everything in your path…But driving in a circle with no weapons to fire is a waste of gametime!

Perhaps new maps will come out with it?
Personally, i thought they got pretty lazy when doing the Races. I was imagining custom race maps with actual race tracks, fully loaded rocket warthogs, etc… (like on the PC version of Halo CE) but instead we got mongooses on the original maps. No tracks, no nothing. Just mongoose racing.
Its not that i hate it entirely… i really don’t. Its just that i imagined more. Hopefully, Race is here to stay.
