Every -Yoinking!- match im always playing against people who strafe, use dmr-br right, and constantly -Yoinking!- flanking. I’m about to just break the damn disc if this damn ranking system doesn’t start working. How the -Yoinking!- hell does everyone know how to play this game already at such a high level?
I think you’re coming up against veteren Halo players. The basic game mechanics are pretty much the same as Reach.
I’ve also found that it’s easier to get kills when in comparison to previous games due to the increased numbers of first time halo players.
I noticed the same thing. I think there is some sort of “true skill” system that was utilized in previous titles.
If I play Infinity Slayer, I am always up against some pretty worth opponents.
BUT. If i play Big Team (which i havent played much), then everybody is back to being bad.
You seem to know what DMR/BR strafing is so why not out strafe them? You can’t really complain the system is putting you against hard players. It’s meant to. Just beat them.
You’re upset because people know how to play the game? I’m a little confused, but that’s what I got out of your post.
I don’t really see the issue, I’m finding it enjoyable playing the game with people who actually know how to play on my team and on the opposite team as well. No issue, I think it’s a good challenge, one of the things that makes Halo’s multiplayer so great.
Its too early to tell if the new skill matchmaking system is working. Two things are hurting you. First, you have a small number of games against other people with a small number of games. The game is still trying to figure out your true skill and it also is trying to figure out the skill of the people you are playing against. Small sample sizes mean that statistic based systems will be unreliable.
The second thing hurting you is that if the system is like the 1-50 of halo 2 and halo 3, you are defaulted to one and work from there. That means with all the players jumping on board right now, you are playing against the really good players that are fresh to the game.

You only get better by playing better people. The game’s been out a day, you can’t expect the game’s matchmaking to be completely even yet. Enjoy the campaign, play legendary, and then get back in to it. Or play flood or something. I must say legendary has helped me immensely with my strafing and aiming.

And seeing the game does not hold anyone back anymore (No more bloom really and strafing actually works)
