halo 3 was boring as hell compared to reach. couldnt stand it. reach was so much better on so many levels, i played that game for 2 years straight and was still having fun even the night before the halo 4 release. Even halo 4 is better than 3, stop going on about halo 3 its driving me crazy! its old, things must adapt or things get boring. The only good thing about halo 3 was it had decent maps but gameplay wise halo reach smashed it.
Halo 3’s multiplayer was bland, and took very little getting used to, which is why so many people (including myself) loved it.
The game also had so many fun glitches/hiding spots.

And I get where OP is coming from, I just had to post this.
Also, because H4 is more “Flashy” does not mean it is better.
myself personally, finds skilled gameplay more important than let’s say graphics. (which all newcomers usually pick over good gameplay (also, not saying h4 has bad GP, just different I guess)
anyway it’s all personal, so I also don’t see why you have to create a topic, just so you can see who agrees or doesn’t.

Check my Halo 3 service record on bungie.net. Do it. You’ll find that I played Halo 3 for 3+ years, and yes, I was still having fun on the day before Reach was released. Reach barely lasted a year with many people. Halo 3 held people captive until the end.

LOL look at the population! It’s horrible! So low!
I don’t care whether Halo 4 sold more copies. I judge it based off of how many people still play it, and that number is not as high as it could be, had Halo 4 been a better game.

Population, general fan reaction, your spelling.
Halo 4 sold more, this is true. I do not deny. But sales don’t exactly mean the game is good. If this game sold a ton of copies, where are all those Halo fans? I don’t see them playing Halo 4 or Reach anymore. I do however, see a lot of pre-owned copies of Halo 4 and a massive backlash from fans toward Microsoft/343 for what they’ve done.

but i injoy halo 4 (big shocker) and i have nothing to explain to you or anyone else who thinks they know the essence of a halo game or a true halo fan.

I don’t respect his opinion.
He is yet another person who never liked the original Halos so he wants the game to change into something else.
I wouldn’t have any more respect for a Halo fan who went into CoD and demanded it changed because he didn’t like it, I would rebuke that person.
My opinion is if you don’t like any of the originals you aren’t a “true Halo fan”, the only things you like are the games that stray from what Halo actually was, that doesn’t make you a fan, it makes you quite the opposite.

I agree. If someone doesn’t like the old games but acts like the newer ones are really cool, odds are they weren’t around when the older games were new. The scenario I picture is someone only knowing Reach/H4 putting in one of the older games and saying “what is this nonsense? You have to walk to get places? You can’t just run to safety? You have to find field equipment and plasma grenades? Ok I’m done with this game. Why does everyone make a big deal about them?”
They’re probably used to those things being handed to you on a silver platter in Reach and H4. Thus, they think the older games aren’t good because you actually have to work to get things.
