Seriously FFA is a mess

There are too many players. Everyone has almost a 1.0 kd because they get a kill, then someone else spawns on them and kills them. Then repeat. The people who win are usually the ones camping spawns. Did they even play test this?

Yeah agreed. Halo 5’s FFA mode has to be the most chaotic FFA than any other Halo to date. You’re lucky if you’re even able to stay alive for more than a minute. Every encounter typically ends with either you getting shot in the back off spawn, or you manage to get a kill (double kills and triples if you’re lucky) but end up dying by someone else finishing you off.

The biggest issue I find in FFA which is a HUGE problem is that players RARELY go for power weapons in this playlist. Why you may ask? Because players don’t want to be going for a power weapon just to be 5 shotted from multiple people with the godly magnum. This is especially typical on the map Orion. Nobody ever has the Sniper or anyone ever going for the Damage boost because those are two very exposed areas that you have an 85% chance of dying trying to get to them.

I really wanted to like this playlist because FFA has always been my favorite in every Halo but I can’t seem to enjoy it as much as I used to. If they had an increase in radar distance, better aiming mechanics, and 6 players in FFA, then it could have the possibility of being a fun playlist.

Some maps it makes sense to try for power weapons for example pegasus and regret. its too risky on orion but if you can get the sniper to the opposite tower to the fusion rifle you can hold that position well with the dmr and plasma grenades that spawn there.

Only thing I like is seeing my custom colors lol

The FFA playlist also suffers from absolutely craptastic spawns, just horrible…

That’s why I don’t like playing FFA (unless if it’s an action sack gametype). I like having a team and communication in Halo. FFA can get too hectic for my taste.

I love FFA. I can actually steal a few cheap kills because the pro gamers are busy bashing each other’s heads in!

I just played a match and hated it, nothing like spawning and getting raped by two players instantly. it should only have 6 players on the map and better spawns.

I like that it has 8 players and that top 4 get experience just like tournaments. But it is pretty chaptic. All I want is the aiming to be fixed and maybe br starts and im ok.

I can agree with this, FFA is hard

What rank are you in FFA? Just curious, because Onyx FFA has everyone going for the power weapons and power positions on the map, because it is really important to win if you have those two things.

I get my highest KDR playing FFA.

I love it when tryhard pro gamers go after each other instead of the casual gamers like me!

I have to spawn and hide to survive for a couple kills, I hate playing like that.

I’m Onyx but even then, I fail to see players going for power weapons on maps like Plaza, The Rig, Pegasus and Orion. It’s horrible.

FFA’s like playing roulette. as others have said before, changing to 6 players or even 4 given how fast paced halo 5 are atm would help much

I usually only die around 5-10 times a game. Its really not hard to stay alive for long periods of time. Just learn to play smarter and youll be fine. And i always go for the sniper on orion and since nobody goes for it i never get shot. Never have i been killed or shot while trying to get the sniper.

I hate that it has 8 players and despite placing in the top half you still get a loss for your record unless you get 1st which is pretty absurd. Add to that the worst spawns in Halo history and you get H5 FFA being easily the WORST FFA of any Halo game to date.

Toning it down to 6 players would help the playlist a lot. I try so hard to keep my cool when playing

What’s messed up is that I had a 0.8-1.0 K/D ratio for all of my games and it still gives me onyx. But FFA really needs to tone down the power weapon spawns, the amount of players, and possibly AR starts. The spawns are ridiculous. I get shot 2 seconds after spawn. The only way I could see 8 player FFA working is if we had bigger maps.

Doesn’t work for me. I always fool myself into thinking it’s cool, maybe this next match won’t enrage me like the last one. Never works. I’ve never gotten so furious playing Halo before than when I go into FFA.
