I think Halo 5 has all the ingredients for a great campaign with an interesting plot (I care mostly about campaign over multiplayer), but the demo preview at E3 2015 really got me concerned. The gameplay looked decent but the graphics, they look really poor for what I was expecting!! Is it just me? Halo 4 had stunning visuals, I hoped Halo 5 would have something vastly improved over this, being a generation ahead, but what I saw reminded me of those cartoonish cutscenes in Halo terminals, specially explosion effects and the way the other Spartans moved, did not look good to me. Halo 4 graphics seem better to my eye.
I do not think that gaming experience is defined by graphics alone, but Halo has always been on the forefront of both graphics and gameplay. So, with only a few months left until release, I’m a bit concerned about this.
As far as I’m aware, most versions of the demo that are online are 720p 30fps. This might have something to do with it. Otherwise halo 5 uses the exact same art style as Halo 4 and people are just confused about the lack of change.

Well, thinking about it, I guess that for some reason seeing the recent Hunt the Truth live trailers with the exact same characters also spoiled my expectations a little bit. Still … Let’s see, if it’s as good as Halo 4 with a bit of refinement, I won’t complain.
Well its been known for awhile that they went the 60fps route and so they was going to lose some visuals because of it, id still rather 60fps imbh for a shooter. To go back to 30fps after MCC would kinda sux in my opinion. So yeh thats why its not leaps and bounds better graphicly. And still it looks nice, and much better in motion imbh,
The campaign graphics looked better than the mp but thats mostly always true.
I remember being fairly impressed with the beta. I mean I’m not a huge fan of the art direction 343i is taking Halo seems like the took everything Reach had going for it and just went the opposite direction.
but all in all the beta in no way looked bad by any means
Yeah, I have to say the colours (especially in the gameplay footage of War Zone) looks pretty washed out too. I’m still gonna buy it and play a ton of it when it comes out. But yeah, not all that impressed with the graphics.
I wasn’t all that impressed with the graphics for a ‘next gen’ game everything looked cartoony and flat, kinda reminded me of borderlands for a bit. But they said graphical polishing comes towards the end of the production cycle, so maybe it will improve before release. I hope so anyway.
