Serious question: who is enjoying tact ops and why?

Completed the event. Not gonna try for the visor because the odds of getting manglers is ridiculous.

Grinding that has left me burnt out on the game. We will see what next week has to offer.

It offers commandos and stalker rifles, you think mangler kills are hard too get now? Wait till they add 2 more options to the mix.

Tactical Flops.

Tactical Plops.

One thing I’m curious about in this game mode is directed towards all the people who claim the sound system in this game is broken.

In this game mode, mostly because of the motion tracker being completely removed. Being able to listen to foot steps is so bloody important. I can’t count the number of times I’ve located where people are or coming from just by their footsteps alone.

I’m a little curious if the people making the sound being broken is actually factual or not now. I guess the only way to know for sure is to see a video recording of them playing.

I can say for certain that the foot step audio has broken for me in a game of swat a few months back, but I can only say that with confidence for one occasion.
Incoming gun shot audio seems to drop off occasionally as well, but I’ve only really noticed it with the AR, maybe the BR but a little less frequently.

I wonder if desync is to blame for the audio glitches.

Not a fan of the mode personally, I have just been waiting for Mark V Zeta since the game launched so I went all out and unlocked it asap.

Maybe its because I wear headphones, but sound is the one thing I think they did really well. Position of footsteps is very accurate and guns echo in the correct directions.

Maybe…

Tactical is my favorite mode and I’m having a load of fun with it. Even with friends who don’t like it. I like that they added the mangler and sidekick to mix it up a little bit. I’m not exACtly looking forward to the commando being added but it could be interesting.

Sorry this isn’t your jam. There ARE people who are enjoying it though, and I really like most of the rewards. The coating especially is pretty cool. Maybe the next event will be something you like. Cheers-

This ^ I mostly play tactical by sound with headphones on, and honestly having to find a new way to play with the shorter-range pistols has been fun and interesting lol

Yes, not only are you incredible at Halo, but your forum posting intellect is off the charts. Bravo!

Consider: casual players have a very hard time getting killing sprees in a sweaty game mode like “Tactical Slayer”, not to mention the other ridiculous challenges that are required to complete for this event.

We are all so happy for players like you who just “play the game” and complete these difficult challenges with ease. Again, it’s why Infinite is nothing but a sweat fest - there’s no room for casual players - and it’s why this game won’t last.

Get it?

I’m very much average at this game. Stop making excuses and stop labeling things as “sweaty.” Social has MMR in it, so guess what? If you’re casual, you’re playing with other casuals who are in your skill range. If they are “sweats” then I guess you are as well.

Would be ok with it but it tends to only give me Sidekick matches which is a drag (more Mangler matches would be fun…), and I’m sitting on frustrating challenges that keep me from progressing through it until I give up and Swap them

I assumed they were removing pistols and manglers next week.

Just got back from a camping trip and jumped on for a game. Finally got the chance to try out Manglers.

And I have to say I’m a fan.

It was differently paced again to BR or SK. And I loved it that if you saw someone shooting you could actually crouch or jump and dodge the headshot.

Again, I’ve only played a handful of games - but I am appreciating how the different weapons are mixing it up.

So far BR > Mangler > Sidekick.

The first one is obviously the classic. The others may not have legs (ok as an event experiment).

But keen to try some more.

Agreed. But it’s more like BR > Mangler >>>>>> Sidekick for me.

I like it surprisingly because I am actually dominating the matches where there are no M&K players.

One of my recent matches I had 36 kills!

Plus the rewards are pretty groovy.

But man I am annoyed we got Sidekick Tactical Ops and not Commando Tactical Ops.

I’m on the final challenge of the week that’ll net me the weekly reward. Have to get 25 mangler kills ( not melee sadly ). 6 down in my first match, should be able to finish this easy peasy.

But it’s fun. I prefer Battle Rifles preferably, but I like all three as they all present different challenges. Without motion trackers though tracking people by sound is so important. You wouldn’t believe how many people I melee to death by tracking them around corners.

So many people blindly bum rush around corners too. Makes it easy to out smart them. A clear indication that people rely waaaaaaaaay to much on the motion tracker in this game.

Oh man, you mean to tell me that the unltimate reward challenge is RNG based? Sounds like an enormous waste of time.

The time you waste on these forums was spent playing the game you’d probably be done with your challenges too lol!

But I guess it’s more constructive to complain instead of having fun. Oh well, whatever floats your boat heh.
