Serious question: who is enjoying tact ops and why?

Mangler swat actually isn’t that bad, probably my favorite version. Swat in general isn’t my favorite in infinite though, so I’ll have to pace myself this week. I don’t imagine I will max the event.

Only played two games and enjoyed them so far.

Both BR.

Got spawn killed a couple of times on Behemoth. That sucked.

Look it’s not my jam. But I don’t mind playing it on/off for a week. At the very least I’m going to use it to work on my map movement and head shots.

I actually got a couple of kill streaks… which is rare for me, especially in this type of game mode… so I really hope whoever killed me got the challenge they needed.

I think the base TS mode isn’t horrible, in fact it’s quite fun if it wasn’t for the awkward spawn system.

Sidekick TS is really awful. There’s something off about the mode that I haven’t figured out yet. I can’t seem to score any headshots at long ranges, even on stationary targets, yet I’m getting dinked effortlessly when I’m the target in these situations. Paired with the lack of RRR on KBM, it makes it very difficult to gauge effective range. Gonna try controller tomorrow, but I’m guessing it’s not going to fix the issue.

Mangler TS is kinda what Sidekick TS should be. It’s a bit slower and closer range, with great reaction time and ability to gauge distance well due to the slower projectile. It’s a bit stressful, but manageably so compared to the twitch reaction needed for BR or Sidekick TS.

Biggest issue that remains is the fact that Behemoth and Launch Site are still in active rotation, and given that two modes rely on shorter ranges it makes these massive maps truly a slog to slop through. Again mentioning the spawn system, these maps really don’t belong paired with these modes.

Kinda surprised that Commando TS or Stalker TS, or even a mobility TS with equipment wasn’t introduced, these could’ve added some interesting flavors to the mix.

Makes me long for a Winter Contingency style Progression rather than challenges that just drive you mad when you have no challenge swaps.

No im not paying for em.

have it be like “participate in this specific game mode and bamn, level up in the event bp”

I like SWAT, so I find the event fun. My only real complaint is the challenge system is stupid. At least have the event have their own challenges instead of mixing them in with everything else forcing to to complete other stuff to get another challenge in hope that its an event challenge…or just get rid of the damn things and go back to an XP based system sigh.

Me. No big reasons aside from I find it enjoyable to play, especially if rewards are involved. I can see it may not be as fun to a casual though.

I think it’s good enough with the right maps. However, the only map that plays even half decent is Live Fire. All the others are just not suitable in my opinion.

SWAT was always a favourite of mine in Halo’s 3, Reach & 4 - no nonsense, headshot training was how I treated it.

Currently, the netcode makes SWAT an unfair disaster. I can put 4+ headshots into a player and nothing happens, whereas I can drop dead before someone’s even turned a corner, not to mention the amount of times I die within 1 second of spawning because someone is looking perfectly in my direction from across the map when I spawn in.

Infinite’s maps do not work with 4v4 SWAT, however I did get a one game of Bazaar that played amazingly brilliant when it was 3v3 however, so I would heavily consider.

As for the Event itself, I had to burn through all my Challenge Swaps to complete it, all Battle Pass granted, because will I hell ever pay for such a thing when all the weekly challenges could be active at once, to get challenges that were either;

  • Perform x one time.
  • Get x kills with x weapon.
  • Complete/Win x amount of games.

The “Upcoming Challenges” mechanic has got to go. They can keep the Weekly Ultimate Challenge, but this idea that only 4 challenges can be active at a time, when we could easily be performing tasks for challenges that are sitting dormant and not getting rewarded for it, is folly.

Also, why is it called Tactical Slayer? It took me quite a few weeks to realise Tactical Slayer, was SWAT. Tactical Slayer sounds like some hardcore/no equipment variation of Slayer.

I’m referring specifically to how rampant the problems are with desync, latency, and cheaters. Swat is a fun game, but if I’m getting killed before I even have line of site with the shooter then no thanks.

I’ve really enjoyed Bazaar.

I find it decent I have no real problems got two kill joys out of in one run and score 45 to 50 we lost.

Aside from the random starting weapon, it’s fine. I can’t complain about this version too much as I’ve never been the biggest fan of SWAT in general. Regardless, I may complete this event anyway as it’s a short one.

I’m happy to not be solely reliant on the BR but I miss the days when your pistol had a proper scope. It makes behemoth a nightmare when you are stuck with the sidekick.

Yeah, I kind of wanted to hate it at first but honestly some of it actually works pretty well. Sidekicks or Manglers on Behemoth is pretty awful (and BRs too, that map needs help in general) but I was pleasantly surprised at sidekicks and manglers on Bazaar. The whole problem with that map and slayer is that it’s a campfest (and 10x campfest in BR Tac) but with guns that can’t cross-map, it actually becomes way more traversible,

The rest of it’s a mixed bag. It’s a social playlist, just try zany things, get some unlocks, and have a few games of fun without worrying about MMR.

There’s nothing enjoyable about playing a gamemode over and over and over and over.

The way 343 designs Events is simply just that : making the player bash their head against a single playlist/mode until they comatose and die.

To quote Emperor Palpatine: “Do it.” Seriously, go for it. 343 is not doing a good job of making people enjoy their latest game, so go and play their older ones (MCC and H5). Even better yet, you can go and play another game that you and/or friends enjoy. Don’t waste time on a game that doesn’t deserve it.

Ive always enjoyed swat though i cant stand mangler swat with the desync just makes it so frustrating to play

Well don’t then.

You have until the 22nd.

Just play a couple of games and then do something else.

You only have to do 0.7 challenges a day to get all the items.

I honestly think it’s a terrible mode of play. Mangler SWAT is THE WORST! I’m sorry, but it’s not fun…like at all!

I’ll admit, I hate SWAT even though I’m pretty good at it. I find it boring and frustrating. If they wanted to make it different, then they should of made it so you spawned with a random precision weapon or made it so weapons like the pistol were map pick ups so these dumb “kill 15 people with the pistol” challenges, wouldn’t be so frustrating for players. My buddy has literally played over 10 games…10!!! And still hasn’t gotten pistols. So ridiculous!

In my opinion, these events should be entirely new game modes (Like how attrition was) or fun silly game types that everyone can enjoy.
