Serious poll - who asked for Halo multiplayer to be free to play?

Probably. Probably not. But if it was paid it wouldn’t have a reason to have a store which is what a lot of people are complaint about

Microsoft got crushed on the Xbox One vs PS4 nearly 2 to 1, and they were getting crushed just the same on Xbox Series X vs the PS5. Halo is their flagship franchise, and after a full year of delays (it was supposed to be a series X launch title) it is nowhere near finished. They did what they had to do to mitigate the already catastrophic damage to their reputations and wallets.

Halo Infinite multiplayer isn’t going to suddenly become something you have to pay for. You can’t release something for free then make people have to pay. That is a guaranteed way to crush what’s left of the franchise. Free is here to stay and no amount of toxic complaining is going to change that.

Plenty of games that aren’t free have micro-transactions. Even IF multiplayer became a paid game, that’s no guarantee that the armor and progression would suddenly become free, or even convenient. Maybe it would cost less, and maybe there would be a slow, dreadful way to grind for a sort of in game currency to get the armor and upgrades you want, but the overall cost would be the same or higher.

I hate the battle pass and progression system, and I hate not being able to unlock a single armor set without paying for it, but I would be a lot angrier if I had to pay for a multiplayer experience that is unfinished and riddled with bugs. And again, even if it was something we had to pay for, they would probably still be selling the battle pass and the most desirable armor sets.

It is what it is at this point. This thread will accomplish nothing.

I mean, it’s too late now. To take the game away from players would put a very sour taste in their mouths, and they’d feel much less inclined to buy Infinite. You can’t just change something like that.

Alternatively, a compromise would be giving those that bought Halo Infinite special privilege, such as a constant 50% exp boost. Maybe an extended battle pass (the original) that has all the shop items in. Maybe a discount in the shop (with the prices being lowered from what they are now in general, regardless of a discount). Maybe just getting the premium battle pass included.

I voted no.

My point is if you have a system to play on. You have 60 bucks. Sorry not sorry

and that store is gonna be fixed and it’d still be there to help pay for future updates like said store being removed is off the table period it wont happen

edit also your idea of just making the mp now pay to play would not be good it’d hurt ifnitne in a big way cut off the new guys and make ifnitne bomb I get it deep down you want it to succeed we all do but dumb stuff like this aint the way to help ifninte it’ll hurt it

No thanks. You’ll end up with another halo 5 that lasted for over 5 years and updates that arrived when everyone’s already moved back to MCC.

343 couldn’t do it right then, I say they should try something different like they are with infinite.

I liked halo 4 so I guess they could pull it off again but halo 5? Please don’t put us through that again :scream:

I like the poll, good idea. Like OP said, the community has spoken! :speaking_head:

Aren’t we going that same route anyways?

Drip fed content?

There hasn’t even been a mention on infection.

Everything is coming in peices again just like Halo 5.

Microtransactions shouldn’t exsist in any game. Period

Doesn’t matter, snow flake monitors are still going to censor and hide posts because it hurts their feelings. Freedom of speech is dead on here.

Regardless if what you say addresses actual issues and raises valid points you’ll still be censored.

The post is doing pretty well. I think they would’ve removed it by now if they were planning to

JUST DONT SAY THE MAGIC WORD

We’ll too bad they do and nothing is gonna make them go away best thing is to have the prices lowered

This isn’t the early 2000s anymore this is the norm I know it sucks but we can’t do anything stomp all you like higher ups won’t hear it ever here though we have a different case we are getting store fixes that any other developer would’ve just said “we’ll fix it” and then do jack all here 343 is gonna fix the store to make folks like you at least crack a smile I don’t like the store either but what your suggesting is a fools dream in today’s market

Posting this poll on this forum would be like if you went to the dog subreddit and made a poll that read: “Who likes cats better than dogs?”

Prices lowered won’t mean anything. I still won’t buy or support it.

If they make multiplayer paid I would gladly shell out whatever price it is

So… they shouldn’t care at all what you think.

Oh so if it was paid and had the store you’d buy your really stuck aren’t you

And what if the price drop is a very reasonable price? Knowing you you’d pout and stamp your foot like a 3 year old

But what ever you not buying a thing ain’t gonna solve a thing brat

Ops brain is odd o try to explain that regardless of infinites wasn’t f2p we’d still have the same issues but he thinks p2p= no store which is wrong updates have to be paid some how

No shoulder charge and other spartan abilities. Maps are smaller which play better in 4v4 ranked and arena. Default spartan movement speed is effective. No pay to win mechanics. Infinite is an arena shooter instead of a modern shooter like 4 and 5. I know you said you were not talking about the abilities but those do effect the how Halo feels. While this infinite has sprint, the maps aren’t overly large to compensate for it like they are in Halo 4 and 5 (repeated point). Halo 5 and 4 are good multiplayer games just not good Halo multiplayer games. Infinite feels like a good Halo multiplayer game.

This my subjective take on it. I have no problem or anything to fling at people who like Halo 5.

You would also have the money to buy the cosmetics that have zero effect on gameplay. So back to square 1

And video games should cost $90-$100 if you consider the increased inflation and increased cost of production. But here we are paying either nothing or $60 for new games.

Threads here tend to be closed mainly because the comments turn into a flame war, at the moment this thread is pretty respectful. Secondly they get locked when it’s an overly repeated topic.

I played over 15 years. Got all the halos on launch from 3 to 5. Been playing since 2

They also lied to me so they owe me answers. Same as everyone else.

That’s why we are so " entitled " because 343 LIES TO US.

if they weren’t liars then I wouldn’t be here.

So yes. They should care what I think because iv been a paying customer. Maybe that argument works with someone who’s never played Halo but legacy fans deserve action and answers

Paid for out of the kindness of the developers hearts
