Yeah. You did. I’m fine with paying for live. So you don’t speak for everyone.
Most people aren’t. Live is expensive. I know that I personally couldn’t afford it until I was into my 20s, and I eventually canceled it because it wasn’t worth the money.
F2P is SIGNIFICANTLY better. You don’t pay a dime and get all the same content that you were previously paying through the nose for. Including all of the DLC content, which was previously a separate purchase that often never saw play in the public lobbies.
Poll at the top of the thread digresses?
Hey, this finally has more views than replies.
What do you mmean about that?
So it kinda comes down to this. While the majority of us hate the cash shop which is a byproduct of F2P. In the long run F2P will be better for the longevity of the game and player base.
I personally bought the campaign and would have been fine with multiplayer being a buy to play model as cosmetics would have obviously been handled better.
Though I really do believe in the long run the F2P model will work in the benefit of the community. The short term failings are clearly evident. The fact it came out so close to the holidays also compounds the issue as now Devs are on vacations and bugs are becoming more apparent. LOOKING AT YOU BTB
So, you have an angry community being asked to pay 10.00 for cat ears while multiplayer is buggy and divided.
There is a bright light my friends… The Devs have been reacting to our comments and have worked on things already. As long as the Devs continue to engage with community feedback there is hope. Look at all the things they have already committed to working on and adding. Hell, we got literally double the playlists already. We just need to weather the current storm.
I’d highly suggest you look up what the great reset is and why the 10 year plan for Halo is important. You say it will work. Sure. But you have no idea what’s behind the scenes and why going free to play is a bad thing
Did… you just bring up a conspiracy theory and you wanna link Halo Infinite to it? I’m guessing logically because it’s a product of Microsoft… Please no…
If you’re refering to the fact the meeting was about creating a sustainable economy then yes battlepass/games as a service is a way to generate a consistent revenue with lesser development fees.
Conspiracy theory???
The world econmoic fourm is a website that you can easily look up. They tell you what they want to do.
“You will own nothing and be happy”.
Slowly we are moving to subscription based everything because they want you to own nothing.
It’s slated for 2030
Halo was suppose to release in 2020. They said they had a ten year plan.
What’s in 10 years?
2030
Lol, welcome to the thread.
Even Halo Infinite itself is a prime example of that NOT being true.
I totally agree with what you said about Destiny. I was just looking at how the shop is used in Destiny vs Infinite so hopefully, the content over time will make up for how the shop is being used.
The multiplayer will never become paid because now everyone has a taste of how bad it sucks, no one is going to pay for it.
I LIKE Halo being Free to play cause i DON’T have to PAY for xbox live gold or game pass, yes you PC people are hurt but us console players still have to pay for a subscription for online multiplayer and i don’t play any multiplayer games besides Halo, Destiny so now i can save 84 Euros per year.
