Serious poll - who asked for Halo multiplayer to be free to play?

We don’t need a poll to tell us that the overwhelming majority of the fans did not ask for ftp…

If monetization means we don’t have to pay for future dlc, updates then fine by me.

Just uninstall Infinite already and play something else. No one cares

Quite honestly. We do. Because there hasn’t been a poll like this. I think the forum deserves to see hard numbers proving that we didn’t ask for it

Isn’t it funny that you just described Halo 5? We got free updates but the game also wasn’t free to play.

Why did we go backwards?

Forwards would’ve been no microtransactions. Period

I said monetization in my post above. And the lootbox system in Halo 5 was a lot worse than what we have in Infinite.

Key point being monetization is what provides these games with free dlc

I can’t play for items tho.

Every single item in halo 5 I got through playing

BOTH systems are bad but let’s be real here. A free to play person won’t be getting things like in previous halos

yes lol… shifting course is how you fix problems most times

I never thought id say i miss loot boxes but when I can play a warzone match and get enough credits to buy 4 random armors, or just drop 10 bucks and get a bunch of infinite armors or classic halo helmets i will

Not gunna happen buddy

Exactly. Every problem in my life only got better when I did a hard coruse correct no matter how hard it was for me to do it. If 343 caves and shifts course. I GARENTEE it will be met with a round of applause

I understand that.
But let’s say this game had no battle pass or customization would it effect gameplay? That’s the angle I’m looking at. For me the player collision and lack of classic game modes/playlists is the greater issue. Thankfully some of these things, including progression and store prices, are going to be addressed after the holiday break.

No it wouldn’t, the game would still have too few maps, modes, need game mode adjustments for things like vehicles in BTB.
How would they address people who already bought money in the store, but haven’t bought the campaign.
Forge and Co-op still wouldn’t be out for another 2 seasons.

F2P isn’t the issue, it’s how much Halo infinite put around it being F2P, that’s not something anyone can fix by suddenly charging money. What’s done is done.

The game would still be bare if it was $60 tomorrow.

Lootboxes in Halo 5 were essentially a pay to win system my dude. Not the same as “pay to dress pretty”

I agree with you we should be able to earn credits in game.

Believe it or not, you’re actually dead wrong about Halo 5’s loot box system; barring some notable exceptions, you were actually able to acquire most of the unlocks in that game if you invested enough time into it. Therefore, it was actually more rewarding than the current set-up in Infinite. Both systems are terrible, but Infinite’s scheme is far worse than 5’s was. If you can’t see that, you’re blind.

Here’s the thing. When you pay for a product the qauilty ends up being better. If it’s given to you for free it’s something they can’t afford to make better.

The game is already launched.

Basically if the game becomes paid then the store has no reason to exsist.

The sad truth here is it doesn’t matter who did or didn’t ask. 343 can do whatever they want, and what makes it worse is knowing they deliberately turn this game into a cash shop and they have this thing called license agreement, (subject to change.) So if they want to make things worse which by the way they will, that subject to change will be used as they please.

IMO this F2P, battle pass, shop BS ruined Halo. Sure, 343/Microsoft will make a hell of a lot of money off of this game, but at what cost to the game/players base?

Not liking something doesn’t make one toxic.

Halo 5 - Pay to win
Halo Infinite - pay to look pretty

Made it simple for you to understand

No no no no no. We are not starting that.

Halo 5 was never pay to win. Even if you paid thousands to get every item you were locked in weapon cycles for warzone. On top of that if you died the weapon you had can be picked up.
