Serious poll - who asked for Halo multiplayer to be free to play?

Cyberpunk was commercially successful because CDPR had a tonne of support and faith in them after the masterpiece of the Witcher 3. An unknown studio making cyberpunk would have gone under by now.

343 have none of that.

Money has always been the important factor. It’s never not been the important factor. The notion that “back in the day”, people made games for the love of it and only today’s industry is greedy are full of it.

Happy fans are important because happy fans are more likely to spend more but again, Halo’s value shrunk dramatically between Reach and Halo 5. The market also drastically changed during that time. Cyberpunk was riding the good will of The Witcher 3 and yes it make its profit but it cut its tail off so it’s sales revenue pale in comparison to The Witcher 3, it’s a terrible example. That game also chopped off a lot of content, including multiplayer.

All your saying is.

Gaming sucks now.

Deal with it.

I appreciate the response. You make sense and have a point but if gaming continues this way I may just have to check out for good

In fact, if the game were buy to play, the quality of the multiplayer would be infinitely superior to what it is now.

There would be fewer trolls, they would have better graphics and they would worry about balancing the game well.

Shhhh. Don’t say facts in front of the knee benders. It hurts their eyes

There is zero reason why the graphics would be different at all, lol. The game would be using the same engine no matter what.

if it was buy to play, it could have been used in unreal engine 5 for “multiplayer” and not the filthy engine that Microsoft designed that looks like it’s from 2010.

It’s pretty clear they shipped out the game as free to play because the game wasn’t compelte. Had they made it paid they would be forced to do a better job.

You know how many people are pulling the "oh but it’s free " card? It’s literally free marketing for them. And everyone is playing right into it

Lmao. Halo would never be on Unreal 5. Unreal 5 isn’t even finished. You are completely unhinged and have no idea what you’re saying.

Halo has always used its own engine. They would never give Epic a cut of the revenue.

I know right.game looks dated and worse than Halo 5. It even looks worse than Halo 3. It’s supper blurry. Barely any aggressive detail. Just soft lines everywhere

I support the move to bring multiplayer back into the paid content of the game and the complete removal of the store. A revamp of the progression and reward system too.

But this isn’t going to happen and that is a sad truth.

Thank you. Spoken like a true gamer.

It should happen. Even if we think it’s impossible

Gaming doesn’t suck now. There are still loads of fantastic games coming out all the time.

MP shooters are a very saturated market. They need to go the extra mile to lure players in. To the general public Halo has been a dead series for a long time and going F2P has brought it back to the forefront.

Even Call of Duty had to go f2p to stay relevant.

Dude Halo 5 launched pretty much in a bare bones state too. That was a paid game. F2P is not the problem.

Deadlines and being happy to release an unfinished product is the issue.

The plan has for the game to be free ever since Halo 5’s multiplayer was a collective shrug from the wider mainstream audience. It was on a console people hated, in a time where the Xbox brand was toxic, on a service that charged £39.99 to play it, during the explosive growth of the PC and F2P markets.

Halo Infinite being free and on PC is why Xbox removed the Gold requirement for free games. The engine was designed to accommodate expansions and growth far surpassing that of the previous games that have hard data limits. The multiplayer was never in development trouble. The biggest problem with the game’s development was the campaign that lacked creative focus and leadership. It was a very troubled development that went over budget and required an army of contractors and outside studios to get it under control.

The plan to launch multiplayer separate and earlier than campaign was to capitalise on the positive reception of the tech tests and because the game was missing the 20th anniversary release date they were hoping for.

Just saying stupid stuff doesn’t make it true. Halo’s difficult development is very well documented on reporting websites like Bloomberg and Vice.

It does. Me and my friend have been bored for months because there’s literally nothing to play. Everything is all saturated. The new vanguard map and SOMETIMES Halo infnite got us gaming again. Other than that gaming does suck unless you play older titles

Warzone is the only free to play aspect of call of duty tho

Exactly Halo 5 launched bare and Halo infnite launched super bare. One of them was paid one of them was not.

Pretty clear that free to play made it more bare.

Halo Reach remake in MCC came out after Halo 5. FFA and SWAT as social and not ranked. Only what people played for past 6 year does not exclude MCC. It is easy to quote you again asking who plays social and since when again so I will.

You put those words in your own mouth. If you are going to keep lying at least be good at it and if you wanted to exclusively use Halo 5 as an example you should have said that instead of saying “what are people playing for 6 years.” Those game types having no need to be social because you like Halo 5 and everyone wanting them to be ranked is, again, your opinion that you are trying to mask as a fact.

Dear god learn to spell. Pure speculation here. The game was announced to be F2P before they even decided to take an extra year to work on the game. You’re trying to twist this into a “they changed it into f2p right before release to fool us.” Keep that tin foil hat on.

This coming from the guy wetting himself because a handful of people voted no and he automatically assumed they do not like the game. Nice mental gymnastics.

So your saying.

It’s free to play.

That’s it.

IDC how hard it was. They had 6 years. Maybe if they didn’t scrap the first project we’d be much farther along

This conversation is going no where.

Your arguing for a wider audience. Cool. IDC. They care.

That means I eventually check out and I’m not the only one

Not his problem, my dood.
