Do I have to point out another lie you made? One of these things
is not like the other
You asked who plays social FFA and SWAT and since when. More people played and still play the MCC than Halo 5. Was this your whole “you keep putting words in my mouth” moment? It’s great you like Halo 5 but that is the worse example for setting any Halo benchmark. That game was already considered dead within the same amount of time that Infinite been out and thriving. Halo 5 is still panned as a pile of doo doo to this day while Infinite at worst has a mixed reception. That 6 year comment is a funny joke but let’s move on.
The store again. You can’t say anything f2p effects gameplay wise. Your only argument is the store which has zero effect on the gameplay.
When did this happen?
Was it when you said paid games are better than Free games?
No, because you came back and agreed with me that the paid games I listed all sucked and could not hold a candle to a free to play game like Halo Infinite.
Was it when you lied about H5 pay to win monetization system?
Zero to do with gameplay and even you defeat your own points by saying if this became a paid game it would not effect gameplay.
No one? The pole shows that some people did ask for it.
Is that why people have been hailing the Halo Infinite Battle Pass on reddit and other game forums for having no expiration date since it’s announcement?
To be fair your sentence structure, paragraph structure and spelling is awful and very hard to follow.
Wait. What am I doing here? I’m trying to have a normal conversation with a Halo 5 fanboy who says he does not play Halo to have fun. The way I see it, far more people did not ask for your opinion so you should delete this thread.
This Thread is about F2P aka Business Model not about Content.
The Lack of Content has nothing to do with the Business model and this game will grow with time and that’s totally fine.
F2P isn’t bad just because some people are against it (and are not the targed audience anymore). This forum does not represent the market!
I play this game for fun. If your friend needs smth to grind for he should play WoW.
I’ve noticed that people who say they love F2P Halo and by extension F2P games, are people who struggle with money, and I totally feel for these people, however a line needs to be drawn. I want a 2021 version of my car but I can’t afford it, so should I beg to the manufacturer to give it to me for free or at the very least a discounted price? No. Idk how to say it without it offending someone, but just because you’re tight on $$ doesn’t mean the world should cater to you.
Not a apples to apples example.
Some people are struggling with money yet none of them begged 343i to make the game free to play. 343i decided to make it free anyway. It would be the same as you getting a new car for free because the manufacturer decided they wanted to give you and others a car for free.
You act as if only spending $10 on the Battle Pass isn’t also part of the problem, especially when there’s so much junk in it. Extra content or not, it’s junk. I’ve yet to meet a game with a Battle Pass that didn’t make me want to vomit. Like seriously, you looked at it and said “I must have it”? I just don’t get it.
Also, the game stops being F2P once you make that purchase.
Never lied. Again . Putting words in my mouth. Typical of your types.
Bro. What was the last Halo game. Oh that’s right. Halo 5. How long was it out? Oh thats right. 6 YEARS. so yeah. It’s always been ranked SINCE Halo 5. Litterally no reason for them to be unranked and everyone who actually plays those playlists want them ranked too
Sooo???
LMAOO. WHAT? the fre to play model happened BEFAUSE it was an unfinshed game. Imagine releasing the game like that for a full $60 bucks. They game is litterally unfinshed and your like “wHaTs fTp gATtA dO wItH tHaT?”
I agreed with what? Litterally putting more words in my mouth. I repeated this multiple times. If Halo released the same way for all 1-5 games then how all of a sudden does that style of launch not work anymore??? Because you said so?
Lol. Another strawman. No one wants the seasons, battle pass, store. And no one asked for it either. It’s just a spereate point and your like ohhhh what they gatta do with gameplay. Stay on topic bro
Yeahhhhh. 13% that’s SOME people arlight
It’s not hard to follow. You just don’t know how to read. I literally replied to all of your points by other people multiple times already but your still sitting here making the same points
Another flase good. Halo 5 fan boy?
I’m literally advocating for calssic over infnite.
I haven’t read the thread but f2p was necessary to be competitive in a saturated market of other f2p games.
If they wanted to grow their game they can’t rely on the hardcore players like ourselves that will be happy to pay. The casual market wants f2p and paid skins and that’s what they’ve given.
Lack of content is bad and free to play is bad
Why? Because they are ganna be focusing on fixing things that never should’ve been in the game in the first place.
This is why everything is going free because they don’t want you owning anything.
It’s sad that no one here sees it. They keep clinging to
Ohhhh it was the best financial decisions. Sure. For their wallet. But the consumer will hurt in the end. In 10years when you don’t own a single game you play you’ll understand
If I was to be pedantic we’ve never owned any of the games we’ve paid for. We get a licence to play it and nothing else.
If this game wasn’t f2p it would already be a ghost town. Other games have better campaigns and are more accessible to new players. Halo needed a way to bring in new players from cod, fortnite, valorant, apex etc
You may be paying for the license but back in the day if you had no internet and you popped a disc in a ps2 it would work. No dev can shut it off. Or change it. Or update it. It was yours to use.
Fast forward to today and you can’t do that.
It’s pretty clear we are moving away from hard ownership to subscription based pay models. In subscriptions you have LESS say on what the product does and is
We, the fans who are committed didn’t. We’d buy and play the game regardless of anything.
Who demanded it is the wider market, specifically the PC market. Premium multiplayer games don’t have nearly the same traction as they used to due to all the choices available with lower barriers of entry: Apex, Fortnite, CSGO, Warzone, Valorant, LoL, DOTA2, Roblox, PUBG, Destiny 2, Smite, Rogue Company, Paladins, World of Tanks. Then the tens of millions playing mobile games.
It’s extremely difficult for premium multiplayer games to thrive in today’s market and Halo can’t just rely on the dedicated fans, as Halo saw a huge decline over the years. We saw similar happen to Gears.
We have to accept that they need new audiences, new players, new opportunities for Infinite to not only survive but thrive - if their plans to go for 10 years have any chance. Free2Play is the easiest and safest path. The store and progression economy can evolve over time and improve but you can’t beat free. Siege is pretty much the exception and that was a pure stroke of luck and years of aggressive free weekend and price drops along the way.
Well yes but none of that is super relevant to Halo MP going F2P. Like I said if this MP is a paid game then most people, that are currently playing, won’t play the game or spend money on microtransactions.
The same logic applies to TV and music. We need to have different expectations today compared to 2004 unfortunately.
