Serious issues in the Italian localization of the game

Hello! Since I’m Italian I played the Italian version and there are some big problems in it… when fans know better than the voice actors there is something really fricked up.

The first group of problems is all related to the NEW voice actor for Cortana and The Weapon (Yes it’s the first time that the voice actor changed in Italian, in case happened in other languages that I’m not aware of…):

  • She pronounces “Master Chief” in the WRONG way, in all games it’s always been pronounced as “Màster Chief” and NOT as “Mastèr Chief” like she does it… It’s especially jarring since the Italian voice actor of Escharum pronounces it CORRECTLY.
  • Many quotes that come from previous games such as Halo 3 have had a new translation, so the phrases are actually different… I think they gave each actor their own script in English to translate on their own, and she did a lazy job on that, if you want to reference a quote from one of the previous titles it has to be identical.
  • When she talks about the “Created” she also changed their fricking name! It should have been “Artificiali” like in Halo 5, not “Creature” which would be “Creatures” in English… this is ridicolous.

Second problem, the Italian Superintendent voice from ODST has a different voice actor too, it really doesn’t make any sense to bring it back if it’s not the same voice, since its feature is to be a voice in our heads.

Third problem, MANY times during the campaign the voice lines of Chief and The Weapon do overlap over one another in a not natural way, they reply to each other before they know what the other of the two said…

And the final point is more a “prevention” case for the future, the Italian voice for the Arbiter was changed from halo 3 to Halo 5, and the actor who gave the voice to the Arbiter in Halo 5 returned as Bassus, which is perfect for that type of voice, so I really really hope that guy DOES NOT VOICE THE ARBITER AGAIN when he will eventually return in Halo Infinite, it’s the worst type of voice to ever give to the Arbiter, hire someone who can make a voice similar to Halo 3’s Italian Arbiter 343, please.
