Serious Inquiry

Who should I go through in order to request reimbursement for the cost of my Limited Edition copy of Halo 4?

Before I get flamed to death, I wish to explain this from my perspective. I hope someone at 343i can respond to me or help me out, because I feel extremely cheated by the way things have been handled.

I ended up paying, in total, $50 more for my copy of Halo 4. I was promised, long before release date, Specializations as an early access bonus. Forward Unto Dawn’s stream, and the Map Pass as well as some other trinkets.

Because the Halo community at large thought themselves entitled, Specializations were to be given to a huge majority of the community who had not put forth the time and effort to throw more money at this game. While I know that EU countries and some others are not able to receive these specializations, and I am sorry for that, I feel as though no one should have had access to them. While technically correct that I did have early access, by less than a month’s time, The Daily XP Caps that were in place kept me from even reaching a level high enough to take a specialization without insanely high amounts of time pumped into the game.

Forward Unto Dawn’s stream was an absolute rip off, I was not even aware that the episodes were on Youtube, and once I was, I simply watched them all there.

And now this, the Crimson Map Pack which costs 800 MSP in value. Every single person is now able to receive the map pack for free. Not only was the release date scheduled for December 10th, and should have been correctly in place by 5 AM EST, it was delayed for Limited Edition and Map Pass purchasers by 9 and a half HOURS. HOURS.

The value of all of this ‘bonus content’ is now lost. I spent money for this content that is now sitting in the pocket of someone just waiting to be spent on their own habits.

The only things of value within my Limited Edition copy of Halo 4 are Thorne’s little journal, a small schematic for armor, and the game case, as well as the game itself.

I would estimate that my $60 initial payment could cover the case and the discs. An additional $25 into the map pass. However, since Crimson is now available for free to every single person ever, that takes $10 off the value of the map pass. So I payed $100 for $75 worth of content. Perhaps even less depending on how things are handled in the future.

I will gladly refrain from downloading future map packs and return Spartan Thorne’s little diary, Armor Schematic poster, Game case, and some worthless pieces of paper with armor skins and some avatar items which have absolutely zero monetary value, for my $50 back. I will then use this $50 in order to purchase a game from a reliable developer.

Unless compensated in some way for my lost money, I will find some way to seek legal action in this matter. I will begin to find other people in this community that have also spent their hard earned money to receive access to this promised ‘exclusive content’ that have now lost money through the deal.
