Serious Concerns From Recent Gameplay RTX Vid

Here is the link if you haven’t seen it.

After watching the video I thought of some new concerns to go along with some old ones which I will be listing them below, and if you have any thing you are worried about or just want to add or mention please do so.

-Unlimited running may be over powered even with a specialization. I am told that when being shot while running reduces mobility but I haven’t seen that yet.

-Sticky detonator seemed a little ungainly. Even when they lead the shot it still completely missed the warthog. I think it should fire a bit faster.

-It looked like the warthog survived two stickies in that video without being completely wrecked afterwards. Since people can spawn with stickies I think it’s probably best the hog gets a defensive buff against stickies but it may currently have too much protection.

-The return of the Jet Pack. Jetpack can be just as gamebreaking as Armour Lock and I’m hoping if it is back that it comes back as a power up on pickup/ kill streak drop and that is also adjusted so it’s not as usable to fire and fly.

-Helium hog. I am hoping for proper vehicle physics so the hog doesn’t feel like a feather in the wind.

-Armour abilities that give complete imunity to splatters and destory the opposing player and vehicle.

-Kill all Sniper Rifle. The sniper shouldn’t rip apart vehicles like it does in Reach.

-And lastly the last one I can think of is real maps that ship with the game. I’m fine with forged maps for matchmaking but 343i said “10 maps ship with the game”. I am expecting that all 10 maps are not forge world maps. They all should be unique maps for the game and not lazy maps like what bungie did.

Let me add the trend of the Halo maps excluding Halo 1.

Halo 2 shipped with 12 standard maps, and 11 more DLC maps.

Halo 3 shipped with 11 standard maps with 12 DLC maps with one free map.

Halo Reach shipped with 8 unique maps alond with Foreg World to fill in the remaining slots.

Edit: My mistake, I thought I read that the Reach maps were recycled from campaign, but they were made for matchmaking then put into campaign.

Unlimited sprint is kindof odd. I’d be alright with it being longer than Reach’s, but unlimited is unnecessary.

I did not notice the sticky pistol thing. It looks fun to me

So people complain about Reach’s vehicles being to weak. And now you think they might be too powerful? Not sure why 343 can’t just copy and paste the vehicle damage from Halo 3. It was perfect. Guess it’s not that simple.

not so sure everyone should be able to survive two stickies it seems way to overpowered.

You can start with stickies.
I like the new warthog.

Well I only complain because the hog didn’t seemed that messed up after two stickies (I’m not sure if it got stuck two times but it looked like it to me). And most hogs even in H3 die after the second stick or are flaming so much you could start roasting hot dogs on them.

The sticky detonator looks fun to me as well. I loved the grenade launcher but if it’s a replacement to the launcher then maybe I’d say it should fire a bit faster in the air but to be honest I’d have to see more footage of it.

I’m not sure how I feel about unlimited sprint, but everything else looked stellar.

I have a little mixed feelings about unlimited sprint. It could be annoying (easier to escape from firefight) but in bigger maps it removes much frustration (walking from point A to B).

Vehicles did not take damage in H3 but they shared the same health with driver. In halo 3 only way to destroy/flip vehicle was to use power weapons or very accurate grenade (if driver was stupid enough to not dodge it). Remember Valhalla? Yeah it was the most horrible map in Halo history ever! Why? Because team with spartan laser had all the vehicles and vehicles dominated everything because they were just too damn hard to destroy.

In Reach they were just a little bit too weak (Warthog spinning from DMR LOL!) but vehicles were better than in H3. They were powerful enough to kill lots of enemies but they didn’t allow you to rush through the whole enemy team without taking any damage.

Unlimited sprint sounds soooooo unbalanced …

Unlimited sprint kinda worries me as well. Not terribly though. Spawning with sticky grenades really was a concern in the past but it didn’t really seem like there were too many sticks.

For the most part I am happy with what I have seen.

MortalBRhunter, that is true the vehicles did share the health of the spartan but they did also get dinged up and show damage. And they did die after being stuck twice normally. I only brought it up because the hog didn’t even really show any damage after the stickies.

And in either case I’m hoping they either reduce the speed you run and keep unlimited running or make it like all the other abilities with a cooldown time.

I like that when it is rammed, the gas tanks fall off.

> I’m not sure how I feel about unlimited sprint

I hadn’t even heard this yet. Just another bad decision by 343.

Thank you 343. 5v5 action is back!

inb4: custom game

Fingers crossed!

We shouldn’t start bashing 343i just yet, changes can be made but still I find itquestionable considering it seems like the spartans run pretty damn fast.

We don’t know if that is going to make it to final playlists but I hope so.

What does everyone else think?

There’s a reaseon they’re still balancing.

What concerns me most is the player not being zoomed out of scope when getting hit… I would also prefer the BR to be a 4sk as well, although a lot of times in Halo 3 the BR played out to be a 5sk with the bullet-spread, so I guess I could deal with it.

At the same time though, the H3 BR could at least potentially kill in 4 shots… currently, the H4 BR can’t, which sucks.

Frankie said a while ago that the scope issue was just for the E3 build, and will be different in the final product. The RTX demo is the same public build they used for E3.

This is good news… Thanks for clearing that up. Hopefully the BR gets beefed up a little then too.
