With Series X targeting a higher resolution and frame rate will the online multiplayer be affected in any way? Will it have FOV restrictions the XSX doesn’t?
I know with Fortnite, playing on older hardware the textures are awful and you are 100% at a disadvantage when dropping from the battle bus.
Is there any data on any current games and how the differences show in online multiplayer?
I had an S and I have an X. The big difference is 4K vs 1080. The load times and FPS are pretty similar between the two. The X does have faster load times but not by a ton and some games it’s essentially the same. From my experience (Destiny, MCC, Apex, Rocket League) if you want to play at a higher resolution you don’t get the better frames. D2 will run at 120 FPS but I don’t think at full 4K. I’d be more worried about the difference between last gen and current gen. They all played pretty much the same though. The big difference is loading into D2 is stupid fast on the X compared to the S and past gen.
I think 120fps is only for SX, so theres that.
Depends on the player, take rust for example some people will play it with like the lowest settings and play really well.
Resolution shouldn’t matter, they’ll both run at 60 hopefully. There are big changes between 30/60/144 fps. But it wouldn’t effect someone’s skill. Bad textures shouldn’t affect peoples aim, maybe super precise grenade throws but ye
Series S can play at 120fps with ray tracing. You’ll just be at 1080p or slightly lower instead of 1440p or 4K. However with AMD launching FidelityFX Super Resolution which is their version of Nvidia’s DLSS soon you could potentially be able play at upscaled 4k at 120fps at the cost of 1080p or slightly lower.
