"Series no longer a trilogy, but now a saga."

I saw it first on NeoGAF, surprised it hasn’t shown up here already.

Could this be the reason the next game has an “Halo for Xbox One” working title instead of “halo 5”?

Not a bad thing, more story is always good

Hmm.

They’ve been calling it a saga since before Halo 4 was released. Game Informer did a video interview with Frankie where he says that it’s more of a saga now, with FUD and all that.

I’m betting they’re referring to side games.

I’m excited, it sounds like they’re gonna go with Halo 4, 5, and 6 with the main story with Chief, but with other games that contribute to the storyline too. Lots of interesting routes they could take.

Maybe it really isn’t Halo 5?
Just kidding, of course it is XD

Personally, I think they could just continue the Halo series without multiplayer, all the hatred seems to stem from it

I may be overthinking the meaning of the statement. This could just mean that there will be more games besides the main trilogy (4-5-6), which most likely. And you are right about how they stopped calling it “trilogy” and started calling it “saga” a while ago.

In fact, “Halo Xbox One” might not be a particular title at all, but a code name for multiple upcoming games. Or it could just be the name of the new game engine.

The reclaimer trilogy is now the reclaimer saga.

More halo is always good!

You don’t play multiplayer.
You dictate what should be in multiplayer.
And now you are asking for it to be removed.

Why do you hate multiplayer?

The obvious solution is to just continue making multiplayer and campaign separately, if one fails there is always the other to fall back on.

I said it’s my opinion, not that they should do it, I just like saying stuff which I’d find enjoyable after Halo 2 and 3 deterred me from it

I purchase the product, I have an equal say

I liked how it was said to be a legitimate halo game. They have fully acknowledged halo 4 wasn’t legit. And ad far ad the saga they way I took it was there won’t be a halo 5 or 6 instead just halo “whatever” like the forerunner books did they will all have different titles

All this really means is that they dont have to try and push the reclaimer story into 3 games, and can just stretch the story out and have more in depth story telling for each game. So for example if this was still a trilogy, in halo 5 there have to quickly get chief on his reclaimer mission and create some big threat to the galaxy and deal with the oni and covenent things in a brief way so they can get everything ready for the climax in halo 6
Now they could infact just spend an entire game where chief goes on a mission to try and find ways to get cortana back and leave all that other stuff for later games lol.
Over all good news. I think the trilogy thing was just talked about first becuse they wasnt sure how well halo would do after 343i took over but wanted a trilogy just so they could get halo fans to move over to xbox one.

Possibly but what it’ll probably have a little more impact on is how the next few games are structured. IE. that Halo 5 won’t just be filler.

I think this is great news, but I hope that it doesn’t lead to “Filler” games where very little happens. Maybe Halo 7,8&,9 are going to happen?

I don’t know if I could justify paying $60 dollars for a 10 level campaign.

make it longer so you get more out of it? Hell I paid full price for ODST and never used the multiplayer disk, it sits dormant on my shelf, and the campaign isn’t to much longer than 3, ODST is one of my top 3 favorite games

If 343i dropped MP then that would mean more resources and effort going to the campaign.
It wouldn’t be 10levels. It would be like 20.
