Separating MCC customization into Cores and how it could improve future customization content

Cores are nothing more than a cosmetic base much like that of undersuits (as suggested by you) in MCC, it’s not difficult to look past two aspects of a customization system and simplify it for the sake of discussion. Bear with me and use your imagination when discussing hypotheticals.

There isn’t much within MCC that allows for the introduction of true cores, which is why I offered a hypothetical:

A core system could go beyond that though.

We already treat the introduction of undersuit customization as a canvas of sorts, is it really that difficult to imagine an expanded selection of other base models?

You are missing the point when you quote the point and tell me that you’re “not missing the point” then proceed to argue against the proposed point as if it isn’t in the quote you quoted.

We already know that crosscore customization can in fact work and is what players are clamoring for when it comes to basic fundamentals of player customization in Halo Infinite. This is why I said cores offer the “potential” for deeper customization as the feature is currently just a glitch for the average player.

I use the words “potential” and “hypothetical” with citations explicitly for this reason. This isn’t me saying it’s currently an accessible feature, it’s me saying that the functionality does in fact exist in some capacity that allows for us to see a reality in which it could occur. And that’s where you miss the point.

Cores are a digital canvas. They currently are artificially locked to prevent full use, but it’s pure arrogance to suggest that there isn’t a way of making the system better or expanding the functionality to other avenues.

Doesn’t matter about poses. These pseudo “cores” are all separate games from different time lines. Halo 2 vs halo 2 A.

Not to mention the system is broken as hell and even the devs are ditching it. We don’t need it in mcc……

Let alone the fact they were haphazardly put together. And they restricted customization even more even with the already low amount of gear there is to begin with.

Strongest argument I can make against this aside from “343 is doing it” are as follows:
There would most likely have to be a degree of reproportioning of models if they did something like ‘backporting’ HR Spartans/Elites to 3.
They would need to either downgrade the reach customization features or upgrade 3s (selectively) to have a fully featured Spartan 3 core. Neither of these are a terrible idea so long as they function.
What is not an argument is anything along the lines of:
“It tears down the art style” That has already happened, even Halo 5/Infinite did that to themselves with content updates.
“It would limit customization” Not really, the people I see using the options built off of the HO bodies tend to stick almost exclusively to those bodies. Only exception being the Mirage armor. Plus, there’s no reason they couldnt allow the simpler pieces like helmets to be near universal.

My main point with this was to get an idea if people thought the idea behind all these new armors/skins could be made into a cohesive & more fitting format.

  1. They already did this.
  2. The current system we have doesnt really look good.
  3. Take a good look at the new base model for S/Es. A real good look. Now look at the old armors, compare it to how they looked on the original models. They come off much more ‘floaty’ and are missing details and are outright featuring some model tearing (Though not as much as before). We are at the stage of it being haphazard as is.

So was reworking the base models, adding poses & a battlepass.

The current system we have in MCC is far better than anything in Infinite

Elites were redesigned to have donut elbows man. Open your eyes. Being better than a trash fire doesnt make it not bad.

I think at this point you’re just nitpicking.

That’d be a great Halo Infinite meme video title lol

Of course; it’s a 100% hard no to the borderline trolling suggestion of ‘armour cores’ in MCC.

In most cases, yes, their choice is respected. If someone has toggled the new cosmetics, why exactly would they care if the people using the new armours are default spartans? Are you implying that the system should force different legacy cosmetics on spartans that would otherwise be default? That doesn’t sound like respecting player choice to me.

The mirage part doesn’t exactly make any sense. The person in question wants to use mirage and yet has this perception that it looks like the fall guys backpack? It’s a contradiction in terms of whether they like the armour or not. Unless you’re saying that you think it looks like the fall guys backpack. In which case, it doesn’t matter because they can wear what they want, when they want, how they want.

It’s a method of forcing microtransactions on the players. Want to use a ceratain set of armour? Pay £20 or you aren’t allowed to use any of the associated pieces. Surprise! You can’t mix and match the pieces you want with others! We dictate how you wear your Mjolnir armour!

It’s pretty obvious

It’s a lot of work, for 100% negative return. It’d be months of dev work, just to remove a well-established and loved feature. It’s a completely illogical move to make, regardless of how people try to spin it.

With how many times they repeat mistakes its not far from a possible reality.

So you’re being sarcastic then? Suggesting they do a mistake?

Im saying they’re company has a history of huge mistakes and small ones.

And one big mistake; the core system… There is a reason why they said, that they want to move away from it, step by step.

Even 343 admits it was a mistake and here we have a user saying it should be implemented in MCC.
Bait, plain and simple. Should all move on from this conversation.

No to cores, MCC customization is fine how it is, no need to make it worse by adding what clearly most don’t like.

gonna post this here

if you want to improve future customization content, update the current content thats scuffed so it’s not Frankensteining two artstyles into one. (also Halo Reach’s restored Legacy content is not something that should be affected by the legacy toggle, since only the Season 8 stuff was non-legacy)
