I tried turning it off recently after being fed up with the model issues the update introduced never getting fixed fully, only to find out that due to a bug or otherwise I can’t with Halo 3. Works on the other games though.
Challenges don’t JUST correlate with the Battlepass, blame the Exchange for that.
We could solve this issue if cosmetics instead of a BP or store were tied to achievements. It would kind of add a purpose to all those achievements MCC added
Yes it is. Reach, 4, Hell even 5 had plenty of armor combos without Cores. Cores are a bad idea for any Halo game and shouldn’t exist.
Nah stop living in 2007. You don’t like the battlepass and I get it, but acheivement based unlocks was never a good method because there were plenty of players who just didn’t have the skill level to get some of those unlocks back in H3.
With MCC’s system everyone can unlock everything regardless of skill.
I’m not living in 2007, I just remember when these systems had a lot more thought put into it. I’d prefer a tweaked version of the credits system to this honestly.
You’re not going to go on a speel about how the first month of MCC having literally EVERY player on reach getting & equipping the birthday party effect was an objective improvement are you?
Halo Online content was grandfathered in by both being from a modified Halo 3 Engine, and easing the transition between Halo 3 and Halo 4.
That said, almost everything you used as an example has been contentious within MCC’s community, and been considered one of the major factors as to why player numbers dipped so rapidly in 2021.
Yes, glad you noticed.
Let me lighten you up a bit about 343… They change things just for the sake of changing them. Thats why.
It’s content therefor its good.
Wrong. Cores are content and they are bad, timed events are content and those are worse.
The words hell no comes to mind. It didn’t help Infinite and MCC shouldn’t restrict its content to some awful core system. The core system was a system designed to cater around MT and benefits no one. What 343i did with the core system was one of the worst things that came to Infinite and it makes the system over complicated when it shouldn’t need to be. It also makes the design look disorganized.
Well remember, if you want 343 to listen you have to beat the dead horse, much like the meaty pulp that was once Halo.
Yeah but you’re saying a lot of things people have been telling you constantly on these forums they DON’T WANT IN MCC. You can beat a dead horse all you want but nobody in the community is going to say “Cores in MCC sounds like a good idea.” because it isn’t.
You’re missing the point my guy.
A core system has the potential to allow for deeper customization options by allowing for a multiple different base selections upon which armor pieces can be added.
Sure you can mix and match pieces like Bionicle parts, but cores could add another layer to this by expanding the canvas upon which you build.
It’s like choosing the flavor of batter for your pancakes before you decide what kind of toppings you want to add to them when currently all you have is default flour/milk/egg. Sprinkle some vanilla and cinnamon in them for a slight change, or go in a whole different direction with chocolate or even strawberry batter.
Also it’s an absolute joke to suggest Halo 5 had “plenty of armor combos” when you have exactly 3 permutation selections to choose from armor wise, and I’m being generous by factoring Visors in that count.
You have yet to give a valid functional reason why. And before you say it, “It doesn’t work in Halo Infinite” doesn’t back up your claim. Explain why unique and diverse base cores are a bad idea. Because I see nothing but endless potential.
They hate the core system due to the restrictive nature that prevents pieces from being used between cores, and further the monetization that prevents more pieces from being acquired in a convenient manner.
If you take those two overtly restrictive aspects away, can you honestly tell me that a system that allows for easily acquired interchangeable armor pieces over and between different unique base armor cores is a bad system?
This is a fantastic argument for the introduction of base cores/unique base models.
Just as an example it could allow for the reintroduction of the original Halo 3 models along side the canonical representation of the newer models. It could have also been used to provide a better base canvas for the Mirage set rather than try and sculpt it over a model that it was generally incompatible with.
Folks are so caught up in the worst aspects of the core system from Infinite (crosscore restriction and monetization) that they can’t see the potential of a core system that doesn’t feature these easily removable blemishes. Monetization and restriction doesn’t have to be synonymous with a system that features the concept of cores.
Feels like unnecessary work for a low return to me tbh.
Little hard to do when it’s the only system that features cores.
If they remove the restrictions completely that cores impose what different is it from the current system that MCC offers? Players would mix and match whatever they wanted as they pleased such that it is now. If you want a more fitted under suit then ask for more under suits beyond GEN1 and GEN2 (+colors).
Cores did none of this in Infinite, I’m not missing the point, I’m saying that it’s a bad idea because it didn’t work in Infinite and it CAN’T work in Halo.
