Sensitivity Problems (Help!)

I’m currently on a loophole thinking which sensitivity is the best, suggestions? I currently play on 5/3, both dead-zones at 0%. I turn down the sensitivity to a 4 but it seems a bit slow to me. It’s probably my positioning across FFA maps or my urging rush to kill. (Help Needed)

Well on paper the rule is “the faster, the better”, but in practice it’s entirely subjective. Most top level players are around or under 4 sens, but again you’re the only one who can measure what works for you. Have you been playing at 5/3 for a long time? I’m asking since if you changed sensitivity settings recently, it will take some time to adjust.

Have you tinkered with your look acceleration? That might be just what you need. Also, you can set your sensitivity to “Custom” and adjust horizontal and vertical sensitivity separately in .5 increments.

I always play on max sensitivity, if you’re curious:

  • Sensitivity - 10 - Look Acceleration - 5 - Inner & Outer Deadzones - 0%

I’d would love to see you give us a great demonstration of you playing on those settings, lol.

I have been playing with 5/3 for quite some time now, but I have also been adjusting it to try different settings to see what works better. So far I have stayed with 5/3 at the moment.

Yes, I have tried max sensitivity and it did not end well. I have also adjusted my acceleration a couple times but came to the conclusion that 3 was my personal best. The custom settings felt the same as sensitivities 4 and 5.

The following Infection footage should do nicely on how I perform on max sensitivity:

I play on 3, 4, 2. It’s the perfect sens for me.

I usually play 3-5 anything higher and I -Yoink!- and miss a lot of shots since I only aim for the head and anything lower it feels like it takes way too long to turn especially in up close shoot outs. I switch between 3-5 a lot based on how I’m playing that day so i don’t think there’s a sweet spot, just how fast or slow your brain feels like working that day

Awesome footages bro, it’s crazy how well you’ve discipline your aiming! Makes a lot of sense to play on those settings when you’re playing Infection.

Now just because I can pretty much dominate in close quarters doesn’t mean I’m no slouch when using a sniper rifle as well:

Those were some sick clips, really got me lost for words dude! I feel like you’re barely moving your thumb around when you’re aiming with the Sniper Rifle (probably moving it by a small fraction or nudging the stick).

While sense is objective and something you have to feel for, your accell should always either be 2 or 4. On 1, you’ll feel your reactions are slower, and on 5 your reticle feels like it moves inconsistently because of the steep Accel curve. 4 is for players who feel comfortable moving the joystick less than half way to the edge, and 2 for those who prefer to be more than half way. Don’t worry about what the pros play on, it doesn’t mean anything to you or how you play. Lastly, stick with a sense for a few days at a time, because jumping numbers around will mess up your muscle memory and you won’t ever be able to settle on one specific number. Don’t try to feel it out mid game, look at your gameplay using DVR, as it’s easier to tell if you’re over or under aiming and windmilling when your not in the middle of a gunfight.

Edit: I forgot to mention that you’ll have a bias after trying a sense. Example: after playing on 4 a bit, 8 will feel crazy fast. Playing on 6 will make 3 feel super slow.

Some pros who play on lower senses like 4 will warm up using 7 for a single game to help train them not to peg their stick, then switch back to their old sense to get the feeling down again, which makes them more consistent and confident.

Thanks, this is actually really helpful. I will attempt not to break anything that you just said.

I tend to move my reticle a lot therefore play on a slower sense. I know it sounds backwards but it works. You honestly dont need your sense to be super fast. Your acceleration and vertical sense can be as fast as you like but horizontal sense should be lower as it will make your shot steadier. At the end it is all preference, some pros play on 1 sense other play on 10. just about what is comfortable to you. if you are having trouble with your sense, choose one that feels natural and then just try and tough through the adjustment period.

Firstly you play onyx FFA I think the only ppl who could help you are champs but

you said that 4 seems to slow them try tinkering with the look sens because I was playing on 2,1 and I couldn’t turn fast enough in gun fights but when I put it up to 2,2 it was perfect I’d never tried 2,3 and don’t plan to but I found my sweet spot I tried playing on a bunch of YouTubers and pros sens but you gotta work with best for you just try messing with the looks sens as well cause you sweet sens might be 4
