Did the campaign overview effect your thought of the gameplay somehow? What was something that you disliked about it that you think will be an actual problem.
I really hope there is heavy fall damage in the game. Driving off cliffs with warthogs or off huge heights from banshees… i dont want just shrug it off. Breaks immersion for me.
I thought the same thing when I saw Chief drive the Warthog off the cliff with 2 unarmored marines as passengers. At the very least, the marines would have died and the Warthog would be heavily damaged by a fall like that. Of course, they didn’t show us what happened when they landed so who knows? That was really the only jarring thing I saw, everything else looked great to me.
Not a big fan of calling in ordinance. Makes vehicles seem less special. “Oh Crap! A wraith just blew up my 'Hog!.. No worries, I’ll just spawn another one and come back.” I’d rather have to protect our precious UNSC gear or try to steal Banished tech. Maybe they’ll balance it around the upgrade system. Idk.
I noticed that the highlighted enemies, outline, aura thing isn’t present in campaign for allies or enemy’s. Which I like. So let’s remove it from multiplayer.
I’ve said this in a few others, but it screams Ghost Recon Wildlands. Just capture a FOB, spawn a wasp, dominate and capture everything.

Also interested in how they balance this. There has to be a limited supply - and hopefully you need to do something special to acquire vehicles in the first place - like securing a hangar with Wasps in it etc and if the Banished attack it, you risk losing access to the wasps from that hangar.
My biggest issue is no co-op at launch. I know it will be added later, but I wanted it day 1. Now I will hold off buying until they actually add it in.

Yea, because telling the difference between a gunt and a marine is the same as telling the difference between 2 spartans with the same skin.
good take.
Loved it, only thing I’d like to tweak is to toggle off hitmarkers and health bars. I don’t need them and I want the campaign to feel as cinematic as possible.
I would also like a dynamic HUD too.

From what we know it sounds like these need to be unlocked so a straight path through the game won’t give you lots of this, plus its entirely optional and the AI will adjust loadouts accordingly to your ordinance calls and thats sort of fun. Think of FOBs as rally points in classic games.
I find it hard to really start giving criticism over a trailer. Until we’ve got actual hands on it’s pretty harsh to start saying such and such is bad or needs more work.
With Infinite being a way bigger game in size, scale and scope there’s a lot to cover.

This 1000000%
I don’t think you can fairly ask for criticisms of something we have so little knowledge of. We can only criticize what we’ve seen, which isn’t much in comparison to what will be available on December 8th.

So just have red v blue… Derp. Also teammates have big name tags above their heads… Why do you need color outlines? Do you want 343 to hold your hand and guide your aim as you pull the trigger too?

They have revealed enough from this trailer that they wanted us to see currently, on purpose. Might as well give feedback. Im sure 343i knew they were not going to just see praise releasing this video anyways.

I also think you can only call it out by a certain amount. It looked like there were materials so maybe theres a resource system. Nothing too crazy, probably a simple version. You can also only call in vehicle at bases. Not at any place you want.

Yes. Having to fight to unlock them is cool, I have no problem with that. (Although we’ll likely take our first FOB within the first 15 minutes of gameplay). But saying they’re optional doesn’t really solve my issue with them. Now I have to manually nerf myself just to make the game more fair. I think this should be a feature that is unlocked after completing the campaign once, kind of like a cheat code.
If it was just 'Hogs and 'Backs or 'Geeses, I’d be ok since those aren’t THAT powerful, but an air vehicle? Halo’s always treated flying as the cream of the crop. Just hitting a button feels too easy. Maybe they vehicles scale with the complete % of the campaign and Wasps and stuff are only available toward the end. That’d be fine.
I’m not fully opposed to the system (I’m gonna have fun with it no matter what), but I can sense flaws in it. That’s all.

I’m aware. That’s why I said, “…and come back.” I trust that 343 has balanced this somewhat and obviously players can just not use it, but I just hope this isn’t the only way to get power UNSC vehicles. Like I wanna find and abandoned wasp or crash pelican with ammo and weapons. I know I’m exaggerating, but it wasn’t the most reassuring thing for me.
I dont agree about fall damage when chief jumps from heights…vehicles yes but master chief no considering in previous games we have seen him jump and fall from many heights and even from space onto earth and still survive
also in trailers he is always running and jumping into battle from mad heights but i do think vehicles obviously need to be a risk factor when sending them off a cliff etc…

One of these days he’s gonna land on something as stubborn as he is…
My one criticism: blood decals and blood in general are almost non-existent, even compared to the 2020 demo, which is a problem. In past Halo games it’s helped set atmosphere and provide response / feedback when fighting aliens, landing hits and even telling the story. As a longtime player, it’s noticeably missing in recent entries.
Everything else to me looked great. I’ve loved multiplayer so far, and am hoping the campaign is just as entertaining. I think there’s an improvement on how the game looks from last year, minus the critique above. I would however like to see different environments (tropical, frozen, desert etc.), and I’d love a return of the Flood. We’ll see…
